Cheers mate - doesn't work here at work but will give it a go at home. I have been on all the individual network's website to check the coverage and they're all fine around my way (I live close to Central London) and I'd be surprised if I struggled for a good service.

Gez has spoken - Samsung it is!

Just need to figure out which network I fancy - Vodafone have been good. Is it me or have all the networks become strict when it comes to offering upgrades or new deals on smartphones? I used to be able to negotiate great deals a few years back but since the emergence of smartphones, the scope of negotiation has decreased.

I found that! The best way to get a good deal is to leave and start again, you would think they would fight harder to keep you. If you go into a rival shop and tell them you are thinking of leaving Vodafone you will get a great plan

Had Android and more recently iOS.

    Stick with iPhone <ok>

EDIT: If you're looking for a network... Tesco! Seriously, good coverage, great prices.

Any reason why you prefer iOS over Android? ...

  7. I'm on Virgin. They use Orange, Vodafone, etc networks so it is very rare to not have a signal, plus it only costs me £18pcm <ok>

Hmm I've always been sceptical of these new networks i.e. Virgin, Tesco, GiffGaff etc. Might give them a go.

  9. Before switching to Virgin about three years ago, I was 100% o2 and had been four about ten years (actually about eighteen years as it was my parents phone before I took it on). But they tried to screw me in my final renewal attempt so moved. I went on a month-to-month sim using my old phone at first, only cost me £10pcm <laugh> Only renewed because I wanted the Samsung!

PS...in the argument with o2, I swore a few times which obvisouly got me in trouble. It didn't help that when they asked me to stop swearing I responded with "this is what swearing was invited for!" <laugh>

I have an iPhone 5 (given to me by work) and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (basically an S4 but without the phone bit) and i much prefer the OS on the tablet. I find the iPhone unresponsive at times, I can only download from the app store (the tablet allows for torrents and 3rd party downloads) and the general "feel" of the android is smoother.

I think everyone has their own opinion of their favourite phone and some people are harder to please than others but if I had the choice (which I don't) i'd go with android.

Also, some free apps on Android are chargeable on iPhone - the guardian app and whatsapp are examples of this

i must say apple make good stuff but are really limiting and big brother.

can't use mp3, need apple's own... can't download movies, have to use apple's version. can't get ringtones, can't bluetooth... the list goes on and on. Apple make quality, and charge for it. smasung look to be quality but i dunno. We here tried sony phones and the first anroid was SO awful compared to apple iphone 3 that it was a joke.

I have to say gerrez is a secret Chelsea fan... has to be with a comment like that ;)

just make sure if you are internet mad to get 4g phone end of story.

Galaxy 3 was the first phone to match the sales of the iphone since the iphone first came around. Should say enough about the phone. My girlfriend has it and it is a solid phone for sure.

    My unbiased objective opinion...

    Apple is the devil!
    Fergie is the devil!

Therefore if you buy an iPhone you are a manc lover. Buy anything but apple!

Nice one lads! I had an Android a while ago but it was nowhere near the quality of iOS at the time so it's always put me off!

I think Android is the way forward. I find myself using Google apps on my iphone such as Maps, Gmail and Chrome...

I do miss some of this with the windows phone as it comes with hotmail, IE, but the maps are sick on it to be fair.

Windows phones look very good and I heard the software is also very good. The downside is the lack of apps compared to Apple and Android.

    Google Maps is awesome!!

ya software is good, very smooth looking, fresh look. Just the apps really and sometimes the internet explorer can be screwy ( especially this site actually). There is a lot of "new" to the phone and even the twitter and facebook apps were horrible but the update now has them , I feel, a bit cleaner and better than the android ones. It is a strange phone. <laugh> I have Nokia Lumia 920 so also have the Nokia software as well.
