Joey has been linked with a SAFC move all day by various media sources.

Guess this Twitter comment pisses on their chips now:-

@Joey7Barton: Me to 5under1and? Somehow I just don't think so. I value the time I spent at NUFC.

Joey to the town where they filmed 'Deliverance'? Somehow I think it's unlikely.

This, Joey Barton may be controversial off the field but you can guarantee he will give 100% on the pitch

He's a bad example of football player and human being, Sunderland should be happy that he doesn't want to play for them. And the barcode's fans should fell ashamed for defending this lowly creature.

He's been punished for his crimes - should he be continually persecured for past misdemeanors? I can't remember the last time he was in trouble, can you?

Also, I think you would secretly welcome him as he would improve your team no end!

Defending what? It's just interesting that a former Toon player has said they couldn't play for 'the enemy', it's - unusually for Joey - quite honorable. Usually players who played for the Toon go on to really stamp their mark south of the river; Lee Clark and Michael Chopra just two examples of those who gave their all for your illustrious club despite their Toon instincts......oh, wait a minute.....

I will defend him as a player for NUFC, the lad always gave 100% for the team.
He did the crime and did the time, everyone deserves a second chance and yes Joey has had more than two but so what, I like the lad not frightened to speak out.

Take it easy on Whitey guys, he's just trying to become one of us. He's trying to settle in before changing his av to a B&W one.
