Any chance you could give us a ballpark of the rumoured amount? Or has your reliable information only said 'it's a lot of money'. I'm not doubting you, but like you say it could change at any instant, so we can really only wait and see.

If we do have a lot of money coming, I'd like to see (in order of priority):

    1) Livermore on a permanent - this HAS to be a priority
    2) A good creative mid in to replace Koren
    3) A good striker
    4) A loan signing, maybe Powell

You wont be far wrong with ^^^^ this list re the INS. Dont agree at all about the defence. We have more than enough.

As for the OUTS, well twt..........

Livermore, Kane, Long and Powell would make us a PL top 10 for sure.

I don't think I'd even consider £10M a lot to be honest. I know it is, but just on the basis that we've got an agreed fee of £3.5M for Livermore and a £6.5M bid for Long on top of that from the last window. Yes the £3.5M is on the basis we stay up, but advancing it to January and making bids of £6.5M for a striker (or other players) is pretty much what I'd expect us to be doing now, not in a demanding way, just in a we've already done it earlier in the season so why wouldn't we now kind of way.

I agree, he is our only natural poacher and we need to see more before we get rid.

I heard between £10m and £12m also so £11m is spot on. Also that Long was a done deal a month ago.

So we'll be getting him in in time for the Chelsea game?

Long is still their player. No official deal can be done before the window I suspect.

WBAOfficial tweeted today that Long was back in training and might play against Newcastle.

Yes, but you would hardly expect him to be motivated to play well for WBA against us if he was joining us.
What I'm saying is I wouldn't have expected him to have played.

Good points but was the deal done under Steve Clarke before he was sacked and Keith Downing has decided to use whatever players he has to try and get the job permanently. Like I said originally it was a done deal and that came from a very credible source within the club. TWT.

true, but he will play well for whoever is signing his paycheques
I guess he wants to show WBA what they will be missing and in turn show us just what we will be getting.

Well Sunderland has just announced a loan signing, so could we not announce him today or tomorrow in time for him to play against Liverpool?
