Oh please, he was on the pitch, playing as the central striker, are you really expecting him to be anywhere else other than in the box? FFS lad, give it up
Surely it should be a case of sitting him down and making him watch his own performance? After he's watched them all ask him if he's happy. If he isn't we will improvement. If he is he won't play again.
He was marking the back of the box in case the two defenders in front of him missed the tap-in for the winner, not sure what he was doing with the other one
It's not "trying" to attribute anything. It's a simple statement of fact. His presence there was a crucial factor in both own goals. I know you'll argue until the cows come home, but it doesn't stop it being right.
I have to agree with Tobes on this, a striker should be in the box when chances are created, this is a minimum requirement not a good piece of work (especially for a striker that offers nothing more, doesn't create chances, doesn't get involved in play a whole lot). You could argue that if his movement was better and he found space, the cross wouldn't go anywhere near a defender. I got genuinely a little excited when he signed because I thought he could be a rough diamond that could come good given he's almost at his last chance saloon in terms of playing for a 'top' team, but all he's done so far is prove all his critics correct and made us look at little foolish. You could say give him a chance, he's only played a couple of games but as has been said, that's been Mario's whole playing career. I'm still saying with Sturridge back he'll do better, he's not really a lone striker, but that's seeming more like wishful thinking the more I see him play.
I was just so happy that in both cases the QPR cb's scored for us, because he'd have missed an open goal anyway.
Some people have short memories Not so long ago people were whinging "why the **** is no one in the box!?" Now Balotelli spends a lot of time on his own in the box, getting little service but being the target for tap-ins that get OG'd And now people are whinging "why isn't Borini on instead to run all over the pitch!?"
I'm afraid that with Ballo, I have no idea what type of player he is. He doesn't run behind a defence He doesn't link up play well He doesn't play the lone striker well He doesn't offer assists so not much use supporting Sturridge (or anyone else) He doesn't like to close down He doesn't feckin' score Seriously, what the hell type of player is he? I'm lost. Was there a circus in Milan the week we bought him????
he's mario... that's all you need to know. he's a spoilt brat who like fast cars, pet pigs and dogs and take away. you don't need to compare him to anyone of try and fit his misshapen peg into any more holes. He's useless.
When he's out on the pitch he looks like he'd rather be anywhere else in the world. He seems to hate playing football.
When he had Sturridge beside him they created lots. When Gerrard moved up beside him they created lots. He is not a lone striker and we won't see his best until we can play a diamond or two up top i.e. when Sturridge returns or Sterling as a striker with Coutinho as 10.
