I had a bet on Hartlepool at the start of the season to get relegated (Sorry Jeff) and it has meant I have taken a closer look at the lower league fare than usual this season. That bet is looking good but plenty of time left for them to get out of bother! With that and the now dodgy looking Margate bet I have some fun left....screwed up the Wigan slip a long way back. Cheeky five timer on the football today though; Middlesborough Sheffield United Gillingham Burton Shrewsbury Boro doing their best to cock it up early doors!
Having been sat on a tasty little bet on Hartlepool at 10-1 to be relegated all season I have decided to take out some insurance. They are now 20-1 to stay up now so I have actually put double my original stake on them doing just that. Its insurance but watching their recent performances and looking at their remaining fixtures I really do think they can stay up. I obviously don't care now if they do or don't but my position is better if they stay up. At the price its worth a bet even if you are not in my really cosy position. Given up on Margate!
Three wins on the bounce now for the Pools and the gap closed to just one point! A distinct possibility that they will be out of the dreaded zone this time next week. Odds on them staying up is now down to 2-1 and I have to say that in the current context that is pretty decent value. A team who are on such a super run, two away wins and then a home victory they are fast becoming the form team in the division.
