If that is the case then we shouldn't sell & hope we can regain promotion with his goals & if at the end he leaves for free then so be it. If he does go for 6-8m what are we realistically going to get in as a replacement as we'd need to bring at least 2-3 strikers as Manning would be our only option left (I'm assuming BZ won't be around). You don't get much in the way of strikers for 2-3m these days.
I think Palace would be a good move for Charlie, he'd play regularly and get good service. I'm resigned to losing him when we go down and don't want to see him become another Lambert or Sinclair and go to a "big" club and never play. Good luck to him.
Agree with that. If we can only get £ 6- 8 million for him, and he has only a year left we should keep him.
I'm still hoping we'll sign him. I think we've got a good chance if we did move for him as I can't see any of the teams who finish above us being interested...
Either Palace or Saints would be a good fit for him. I can see Palace doing as well as Saints in the coming years if they have the promised investment and they can keep the likes of Bolaise, Zaha, Puncheon and make a few shrewd purchases. They would provide Austin with the sort of service he thrives on and he could well become a 20-25 a season goal scorer. Saints would also play to his strengths as we have seen with Pelle this season.......
Think Palace will struggle to keep hold of the likes of Bolasie if he carries on his form next season. Also agree that Austin would be a good fit for our system, plus he can't score against us if he plays for us! Got a great record against us for you, Burnley & Swindon.
Off course the other side of things is that we stay up and Austin is with us next season.............. I'll get my coat.
Sorry but can't see that!! You'll need to sell as well if you're relegated. You've got more chance of staying up now 'arry is gone though
If only that were true. Although I like him, the new guy has lost 6 of his 7 games in charge and we're now 4 points adrift with just 8 games left. Its not his fault though. The blame firmly lies at the feet of the Chairman.
I read last week that Bournemouth will bid for him if they are promoted, that would be a dream move for Charlie as all his family are in that area and they are a goalscoring team...
Think Saints would be a good call for Charlie tbh. They seemed to have sorted the club out and should be in the Prem for a bit. Sadly Palarse would be a step backwards for Charlie. I cannot see either Pardew or Palarse staying in the Prem too long.
