just looking at Swansea against Chelsea. Swansea fans must be proud, great spirit and a good side. Why are we so bad when teams like Seansea, Southampton, Crydtal Palace are making so much progress. Saw DAs interview on Sky. He looks she'll shocked. To be honest, we were s**te in pre-season and simply carried on from there
Because they've been build up carefully over a long time from a good plan so they have the identity to move players and managers on while maintaining the same high standards. We're a mish mash of poor managers and DoF's vissions.
Swansea just played the game plan they have had for five or six seasons using players bought to suit the plan. Taking a look at how much each team cost I would give the game to Swansea hands down. In our case, we did not defend the basics and still gave the ball away in crucial areas, comparing our longer passing game to Swansea's short one might be a clue of the way to go. Could be there in ten years or so.
We will probably have another manager next year so no stability in sight. Today reminded me so much of how I felt after Southampton away last year, I was hoping we were past that, obviously not
Different manager, different coaches, different players ---- same way of making other mediocre teams look world beaters. Why ?What is it with this club? Anyone with the answer could really be the hero
Anyone thinking we could turn this around with a handful of signings and retaining the likes of Graham, Fletcher, O'Shea etc etc are deluded. This is a long term project and will take the thick end of of 6 transfer windows to put right...assuming we are still in this league by then. Saying that, I have enormous faith in DA...let the guy do his job, i'm sure he will put in place what is needed.
With respect to you mate. We have been constantly saying that for the last 10 year now. The club is an absolute mess and I have a feeling that it may actually take a relegation to sort it out properly.
Every manager says we need quality and I agree we have again bought cheap Mathews we don't know Kabul has been who we are hoping regains a bit of form mvilla hopefull we need to go and put money down For the likes of van dijk Austin until we look at players in form now now instead of buying and hoping they come good we won't improve
Palace? They had an entire season worth of luck yesterday, Norwich got robbed by the ref twice, they'd have lost if it wasn't for the ref I reckon. I think Swansea is attractive to footballers because they play sort of attractive, fast football. They have an identity. Saints started from scratch and benefit from a great youth setup and evidently good scouts. You lot have no identity, I guess that's what Dick Advocaat is trying to do. It won't change in one transfer window, or in one game, we had to wait 20-odd games before LVG, one of the world's best mangers to get us playing the way he envisaged last season and we only managed that for 8 games or so. Manage your expectations, I see many of you putting the weight of expectation on the shoulders of M'Vila as well, he's gonna be rustier than Steptoe's Bathtub.
We buy players who were good and who had big reputations. Johnson, Rodwell, O'Shea, Brown, Kaboul, Defoe.
Our game plan and formation today was non existent. We had I have to disagree with this mate. With a quality manager in place we could have brought in 3 or 4 quality signings such as a quality centre half; central midfielder and top striker for £30m and improved our lot tenfold. What we have done is buy second class and put a lot of hope and faith a top manager can squeeze another miracle out of them. It's utter garbage mate and I'm not being conned again.
Thing is with Dick one year deal it will mean a new manager next season and is that going to be a re build again?, what Swansea did was have a plan to play possession football and only pick the managers who stick to that. I feel Sunderland have no identity so if Dick goes again next year what will happen?, will it be new players again?, new formation. I would get younger players who can moulded into how you want them to play and only have managers who buy into this idea but you need patience and a chance for them to grow with Sunderland being such a big club sometimes they don't have that time.
Cause they've signed good players for a fraction of what we've spent. Ps. I wasn't meant to link this to your post?? Not sure what happened there ?
