Following an opening away day win at Stoke, Liverpool for return to Anfield for the first time this season to take on newly promoted Bournemouth.

Liverpool responded to last season's humiliation by clocking in a 1-0 win away to Stoke City, the side when the last two teams met recorded 6-1 win against the reds. A dull, edgy affair was ultimately decided by a moment of magic by a otherwise rusty Coutinho, picking up the ball 30 yards out from goal and smashing in a veracious dipping shot to win the game late on.

However, for Bournemouth it was not the fairy tale start they were hoping for on there club Premier league debut. Like the Liverpool game, this was too decided by the one goal, coming from Gestude who came on late as a substitute and putting in from a set piece. Despite the result, there were some promising signs for the Bournemouth fans, creating a few good chances throughout the game but just failing to capitalise.

With a string of tricky away games coming up for the home side, it's important that the reds pick up three points in the more 'winnable' home games, and Brendan will be hoping to get the home crowd onside once again after a disappointing season.

It won't happen against Bournemouth but I'm dreaming of seeing Sakho, Can, Firmino and Sturridge come into the first team.

I think two of those are preseason fitness issues that are being wisely minded and will be in shortly. Sturridge i dunno what will occur.

If i saw this line up

    Mingolet
    Clyne Lovern Sahko Gomez
    Can
    Henderson Milner
    Coutinho
    Firmino Benteke

I perosnally would be very interested in seeing the outcome.

I am really not sure sturrdige will ever be back right.

Skertl is under rated but i feel he is better going forward attacking than sitting off so all 3 of our CBs are the same type of player.

Rodgers recently said that Sturridge is doing well and is due to return early September, so probably will be filtered in towards the end of the month.

I think MITO's side is the best we have available other than Skrtel in for Lovren. However, it would be harsh to Lovren despite Sakho clearly being the better played. judging by Firmino only getting 15 mins I doubt he'll start, however 8 days is a long time so maybe he'll get the nod.

Don't care what formation or which line-up as long as we get 3 points.

Bournemouth are not going to be walkover. Losing their first game at home to Villa
is not encouraging for them, but they are going to put 10 players behind the ball hoping to
get a point. My prediction: Liverpool 3 :0Bournemouth.

  10. Is this game definitely going ahead? Only ask because someone question it the other day because of the building works. Can't say anything to say it isn't so I assume it will be played.

  11. Not far from the side I said before the season started; I had Skrtel rather than Lovren and I obviously didn't pick Gomez but I'm happy with him there ahead of Moreno or Enrique. The central three are solid and full of beans. I really want to see that attacking trio in full swing though, will take a few weeks for that to happen though.

Wasn't there a rumour in the Summer that our first few home games were going to be reversed as Anfield could not be used. Or was that just more BS from the media

I thought the new stand meant that we weren't able to play the first couple of home games actually at home?

LFC website is saying Anfield, so I assume we're good to go.

Newly-promoted Bournemouth are the visitors for Liverpool's first Anfield game of 2015-16.

The Reds kicked off their campaign with a late victory over Stoke City courtesy of Philippe Coutinho's sensational winner.

Brendan Rodgers' side met Eddie Howe's team last season in the Capital One Cup, claiming a 3-1 result away from home.
