Misery of the loss against West Ham was merely compounded last week as Liverpool lost 3-1 to their biggest rivals. A tight game to start off with, but Manchester United shifted in to gear, scoring early in the second half following a dubious foul, it then proved to be plain sailing for the red devils despite a late Benteke screamer causing some uncertainty around Old Trafford. The defeat has piled pressure on reds manager Brendan Rodgers, who was already on increasingly thinning ice, and appears a lot of Liverpool fans are starting to turn, one thing is for sure; He can not afford to lose against the Canaries this Sunday or he may be a dead man walking, if he isn't already. As far as team news goes, Liverpool have Phillipe Coutinho returning from his one game suspension, and though Sturridge has trained with the first team it may prove to be a bit early for a return. Sakho and Lallana may also be attention following positive performances against Bordeaux in the Europa League. Norwich currently sit above Liverpool in the table, level on points. Anfield hasn't really been a happy hunting ground for the canaries, but with their tormentor Suarez gone and with the uncertainty surrounded the reds as a whole, it may be the perfect time to rectify their past performances. please log in to view this image Fixture 6 Date: Sunday, 20th of August KO: 4:00 PM (GMT) Venue: Anfield Injury News: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image MATCH DAY Liverpool XI: TBA Norwich XI: TBA please log in to view this image
Thankfully for you. The prediction league would go into meltdown... Just look at the newkie one to see what happens when the main man disappears, chaos!
Back 4 of Moreno - Sakho - Gomez - Clyne. Use that defence, develop it, persist with it and it can form a great partnership. Moreno, Gomez and Clyne are all rapid and Sakho is no slouch. We can finally play a high line and close that space between defence and midfield. If anyone of the CB' should be dropped, it should be Skrtel. For once, Lovren is not the sh*ttest in the team.
I agree with Jimmy on the defence. We need to do something different from 4-3-3 which isn't working for us. Home game that we should be comfortable in, I would like to see a 4-4-2 diamond; ----------------Mignolet Clyne----Gomez----Sakho----Moreno ------------------Can ---------Milner-------Lallana ---------------Coutinho ---------Benteke---Ings
Yep, play the diamond! We don't have the players to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 and a lone striker simply does not work for us.
