Sebastian Polter admits he was not happy at QPR before Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink arrived

Queens Park Rangers striker Sebastian Polter has played in five of the six matches Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has taken charge of.

Sebastian Polter has told Get West London that he was not happy at Queens Park Rangers before Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink arrived.
Polter was signed by QPR from Mainz in the summer transfer window, but he failed to make an immediate impact at Loftus Road.
The 24-year-old only played seven times for Chris Ramsey and Neil Warnock, during the two manager’s respective times in charge of the R’s.
Polter has, however, played a part in five of the six matches that Hasselbaink has taken charge of - and the target man says that things are getting better for him.
“It has been difficult for me, it’s a different league, a different country and I have to recognise everything for me; what is good; what is bad, and now with a new coach a new chance, and I have to get as many minutes as I can,” he said.
    .
“I was not happy but now I have more minutes, so it’s better.”
Polter has scored in QPR’s last two fixtures, but his performances have not won over all the supporters of the London club just yet.
The German striker still has some work to do to convince R’s fans that he is ready for regular football in the Championship and he will be hoping to do just that in 2016.

With Charlie Austin currently out injured, Polter has big boots to fill in his first run of games in English football.
QPR are currently in 16th place in the Championship table, meaning they are under severe pressure to start collecting some victories.

He might be happy to get more game time but I'm none the wiser him scoring any goals for us.
Better start banging them in soon buddy or you'll see more bench time.

2 goals in 2 games or is it a different QPR you're following?

No, my dementia is kicking in nicely, thank you very much for asking.
With all theatrics happening at our mere club, remembering who scored lately is the last thing on my mind.

Obviously more happy now he is playing, 2 in 2 so not complaining (you know this is going to be a complaint after saying that:) ) but for me his movement around the box is lacking, he doesn't seem to pull the defenders around or create the space. Charlie is a great exponent of this, showing you don't need the raw pace if you have a bit of cunning.

Having said this we don't play the style that would suit him, he would flourish a little more with wingers IMO.

He had a couple of opportunities against Hull that Charlie would have scored. He took a touch and the chance was gone. There are times he needs to react quicker even if that means hitting it first time. I think where he has struggled to adapt is the speed of our game. He did take his header well though so there is a glimmer of hope.

You could tell he was angry by his goal celebration against City Hull. It was a sort of 'told you I was good' response!

We've had strikers in recent times that scored as many over the course of a season as Polter has so far this one and he still gets criticised because he isn't stylish or graceful (I think).

The main point is how can we ever produce any players when we give incoming ones so little time. Impress immediately or be gone.

The club ethos of buying players to fill the first team suits the demands of the fans and yet we don't like that either it seems.

Have to say I like him.....he's an awkward sod, mixes it with the center backs......maybe not the most skillful of players but a willing grafter, just needs the service from the wide players as he demonstrated against Hull........

Oh and he looks a better goalkeeper than Rob Green........:emoticon-0148-yes:

    Spot on!

I said the same to the fellow next to me on Friday.

I like Polts and think he's getting better with more and more game time.

There was a guy who sits in front of me that dug Charlie Austin out during his first 6 games after he joined us. Who would believe that now.

I agree Polts isn't as graceful. But he's up for the fight. I put him in the same category as Devon White. I bet he's a nuisance to play against.

As I've said before with gladwin, just give this lad a chance. It's ridiculous and its part of what's wrong with our club at the moment, from the management to the fans. We're judging players even before they've had a chance to establish themselves. Polter had barely played 90 minutes and certain fans were booing/abusing him/wanting him out the door. What have we honestly become.
Same applies to Luongo but I think that's more the management side of things. How can we expect someone like mass to not be upset when he hasn't even been given a chance and we have the likes of Sandro/Fer playing every week?

Agree totally, booing and abusing a new player as Polter was before he''s hardly kicked a ball for us is total ****e. "Supporters"doing that should be thrown out of the Club. But otherwise it''s just opinions. We all have them and if the manager has a bad one of a player he can only prove him wrong, by playing well, and getting a mate to convince him he'a blind.

Not sure the Managers remember after a couple of games either! JET scored a few for us in October including against MK, drew blank next match at Brentford and was on the Bench for the game after. Haven't seen much of him since either.

He's only getting more minutes because Charlie's not playing. He is that dense?
Of course if he scored a couple more before Charlie gets back, and shed a few pounds while picking up some speed to his run, then may be he can play alongside Charlie and that might be something.

Thriving under JFH?!!..........the only one then and he wouldnt be playing if Charlie was fit. He looked like bambi in headlights when he should have scored twice in 1st half against Hull.

Saying that....I always think we are a better team to watch and would score more goals with two up top so would like to see him and Charlie play together.....last 10 against Brighton was good when this happened but doubt if it will come into JFHs thoughts.....

Look, the guy is no Charlie and we shouldn't judge him by those standards. Based on his performances since he has got a run, he looks like a £1m player, what we paid for him. I would like to see the fans get behind him. He looks like an honest lad and deserves that.
