Hoilett does regularly. It normally results in running into the full-back's shin.

Phillips when on his game doesn't really need to. His early crosses can be very good.

Neither of them have the work rate we need and I won't be too sad to see either go.

I would find it really hard to disagree with this appraisal

Hoilett has a tendency to beat his player, cut back and then seek to beat him again. It was refreshing to see him remove this from his game vs Ipswich.

Phillips has shown some good play of late and tries to beat players. He has done so with variable success. I agree with Watford_R that his early crosses are excellent. A pity that it was Mackie released on the left in the early minutes of the Fulham match, it was asking to be whipped across first time.

As for work rate. Watford_R is spot on. Both need to understand their need to track back and support the full backs. And neither seem to show for quick distribution from the 'keeper.

They wouldn't need to track back much if we had decent full backs.

Be glad to get shot of both of them, I don't know how they have the nerve to pocket their wages each month, no effort and no commitment. They were both a disgrace against Fulham

I thought they are supposed to perform every game not just when they feel like it

From someone that was two metres from the pitch I can assure you that they "played" like they'd never seen one another before. Quite what Konchesky was doing all game heaven only knows and Phillips had no intention of tracking back whatsoever. We were completely overrun in midfield and all we did to combat this was hoof the ball long to Polter who didn't win a single header against the excellent Dan Burn.
    Sorry, but we were atrocious.

Agree a poor game but it looked like it wasn't for want of trying. Seems like most were agreed on that as well
