Tbf to Mbokani, he has been absolutely awesome for us a number of times this season. Tore Liverpool apart and has always looked dominant in the air. The problem we've had is that he often needs support and the team going forward and too often our defence has capitulated. He was listed for African player of the year! (Albeit along with about 30 other players...) I was worried his head wouldn't be right after narrowly missing being blown up in Brussels, but it seems the opposite happened. Heads up though all - the teams at the bottom are each capable of having disastrous runs and suddenly brilliant runs. It was very much in the balance today, and anybody (other than Villa) can beat anybody in this league. A couple of wins and you'll be right back in the mixer. And Benitez's substitutions clearly worked today, so in him you have a manager who can occasionally be inspirational.
The board must be culpable for appointments. Pardew may divide opinion, but he was undoubtedly the best of what we had in terms of playing practically and to the one strength of these awful players. Ultimately, the fans haven't changed anything, despite fruitless campaigns again and again against each manager. I still think we could have been more supportive at home rather than simply showing up, but going down will root out the **** fans who sit their quietly until everything goes wrong, like last time. Going forward, I want someone like Moyes, honestly. I think he would thrive bringing us back. But hiring Rafa for this foolish and desperate quest for last minute glory has ruined us having a tilt at anyone decent. I worry we'll end up with someone fans will immediately hate, like Pearson (who might actually be a good choice), and awful excuses for why the manager hasn't had time to get players in by the start of the championship season.
Agree how that fuk wit taylor has made a living is a ****ing insult...how the fuk he get a start today is beyond me.
Sorry to say it fellas but that's you ****ed now ! Best you can hope for now is Sunderland dropping down with you! Worst defence I've seen at CR this season, at that includes some of the shambolic displays our lot have put on for us lately. Why was Mitrovic on the bench today? After scoring in your Derby I thought he'd be a shoe in to start today? Not sure Benitez is the man for a relegation scrap, prob the right guy if you'd have been safe and building for next season but this is virgin ground for him. The prem will seem strange without you all. Goodbye.
Team for our next game.... Darlow Mbemba Lascelles Colo Sissoko Perez Tiote Shelvey Townsend de Jong Mitro **** off Janmaat, Taylor, Ainta, Wijnaldum...
Personally l wouldn't have Tiote anywhere near the first team. He is a train wreck and if his move to China had not fallen through, let's not forget that he would have been off chasing the yen. The midfield enforcer of old is long gone, too reckless, too many stupid fouls. Another who should be leading by example, but is running around like a headless chicken.
How on earth can you have Sissoko anywhere near the LB position. Hasn't a clue as was seen when he couldn'y be arsed just before their 3rd goal.
Unless we address the gaping hole constantly visible down our left hand side we are doomed. We never win a 50/50 ball and can't string two passes together. Can't defend a set piece or corner kick. Can't cross, can't shoot. Can't be arsed.
Sissoko can't play rw. Can't play cm. Can't play lw........so how the **** can he play lb. he's terrible. The commentators laughed at the fact that we have played 9 different players at lb this season. Yet last season we had three lb in the same team at one point. It's a joke. We had a good lb and we let him go back to milan. We had a good rb and we let him go. Now he's about to win a premier league title at Leicester. We have janmaat. We have utter pricks in control of this club.
You couldn't get moved on here for people criticising every little thing Simpson did during his time here so it's hard to read comments saying 'why did we let him go'. I don't know what you were saying at the time so I'm not aiming that comment at you, but most people were happy to see him go.
I think the vast consensus was that he was limited in what he did, which was being very solid in defence and offering very limited service going forward. Debuchy was an improvement when he got going, being completely fair, although some realised that Simpson offered more than they thought, especially when he left and others became back-ups who weren't exactly great. Then comes Janmaat, the swash-buckling, attacking Dutch fullback. Can't defend for ****, and certainly isn't good enough going forward to warrant such slackness in defence. A few flashy runs paved over the cracks, for a long while, but his defensive frailties, especially at the back stick from right wing crosses, mean he will not be missed. I wish Simpson well, tried his best while here, and he deserves this success because he's been great this season.
"****ing Simpson", "Simpson is the worst defender in the club's history", and "****ing Simpson always backing off" is probably nearer the truth when it comes to comments you would have read at the time.
Is that the Simpson that's gonna have a premier league winners medal in his collection come may? Just seen Mbembas clearance for their final goal...what the hell. Yes it was handball but his clereance before that... not even clears halfway. And then Janmaat..for all 3 goals. So very poor. That's not championship level defending, it's just getting out of the way.
All I can remember about Danny Simpson are his tattoos, his backing away and that song about him! Even stranger, another Leicester defender, Wes Morgan, played 352 games for Notts Forest before he somehow transformed into Franz Beckanbeur! As for the Norwich game, defensively it was a snapshot of the season......soft goals ffs, by hook or by crook you somehow have to get the ball away from danger, hit it into row Z, whack it into their half, whatever, just get it away from our goal and for all three goals yesterday we were guilty of sloppiness....again. Mind, as poor defensively as we were, it doesn't help when the referee, Mike Dean, misses a crucial handball by the player who will get an assist for the winner. A draw yesterday, given the other results, would have been acceptable ffs.
Goodbye? A little premature I think. Norwich may be four points clear of the drop but you've played an extra game and could easily lose against Palace and then Sunderland. If that happens, you really will be back in the brown stuff. Welcome not goodbye!
Hahahahaha aye, that too! I have a question considering the seemingly massive improvements of previously average players, especially with regards the longevity and lack of injuries... If this happened in any other sport, what would be said? The last time I saw a comeback this good, Lance Armstrong was wearing yellow. It may very well be that this is the greatest sum of its parts story of all time, and we should continue to think so until proven otherwise, but given the lack of testing in English football compared with other sports, and recent revelations about a crook doctor, I do tend to question unbelievable sporting achievements these days and whether they are derived from unfortunately believable origins.
**** me chippy you're being a bit previous there mate, we're quite capable of ballsing it up next week against Palarse. It will in all probability go right down to the wire and with our last game being against those blue phlegm ridden scousers I wouldn't fancy our chances #squeakybumsallaround
Oh, and guess who oversaw Chelsea for a significant part of the period the recent crooked doctor has said their players were doping? Claudio Ranieri... #justsaying
