I saw an advert for Glastonbury today which might explain the rain. Could get better once that finishes. I think God doesn't like festivals and concerts in the West Country given it belongs to him. He even managed to cock up Elton John's concert this weekend. At £80 a ticket I think I would just save some and buy his video. If I wanted to see an old man playing a piano I'd pop into the British Legion for a pint.

My two did the Run for Life (Walk for Life in their case) on Sunday. Absolutely soaked and stained pink throughout.

Sunny in Peverell today , managed to get loads more of my patios laid. Reckon I have completed about 30sq m of the 55 total. On a deadline as off to Italy end of next week for a fortnight. Expect England have been knocked out by then....otherwise will have to find a bar.

Ted Heath got us in the FREE TRADING AREA....now its aiming to be the UNITED STATES of EUROPE and will be aiming for a world political position with ARMED FORCES controlled by the faceless un-elected bureaucrats....that sounds very dangerous.....to lose our armed forces to a European military set up is unthinkable.....Cameron says it wont happen but he will be out voted by the other 27 members.

Answer to your question Joe is..... I'M OUT.

I have one question for people who want to leave the EU. That is give me 3 good reason why you would vote that way. I love the usual 2 people chuck back. That's Imigrants and the NHS. They believe that the Out people would really spend all that money they saved on building a hospital every week. The one problem is that without Imigration there would be nobody to work in them. They also believe there would be a difference in the numbers coming in. Presume they would include all those Brits that live and work abroad who might be made to come back here. I very rarely get given a 3rd reason. An absolute down side would be would you truely want Boris Johnson as your Prime Minister?

I'm not going to say which way I will vote as it's secret............

Joe, I am definitely IN. Perhaps if the out campaign had been able to come up with any rationale reason for leaving then I might have been persuaded. But they haven't said anything other than a few half truths and a few more lies-too many little England and racist undertones for me.

Well I'll tell you sensible how I'm voting and that's LEAVE......I don't want to be part of a the UNITED STATES of EUROPE where democracy has been replaced by Federalism run by un-elected faceless bureaucrats...next step will be its own military.....an Army, Air Force & Navy.....were does that leave NATO.

That's one reason. Not that you have any proof that is correct regarding this Army. Also MEPs are elected. NATO will remain exactly where it is. What are the other 2 reasons?

The Armed forces rumor is a red herring. We have worked for years with several countries (EU and non-EU) under our Command and theirs. Our armed forces are not big enough to be effective on our own. IN or OUT NATO wont be affected as it is nothing to do with the EU. A single European Army would be impossible to administer so I cant see any prospect of this happening anytime soon- and if it did, I am not sure why it would be a problem.

Bottom line for me is that the risk to the economy (if we leave) far outweighs any perceived benefit of leaving, but as sensible says no-one can come up with three good reasons to leave anyway.

MEP's are elected by proportional representation.....you don't vote for a person but a party.....so no... MEP's our not elected by name.... so you cannot vote for a person who you want to represent you....it depends on what percentage of the total vote that persons party receives and then how high up the pecking order your person is in that parties nominated reps....so if your person was third in line for a seat in the party that you voted for...it would depend on that parties percentage of the vote being enough to claim three seats.....so no MEP is elected by name.

Lyndy....a European parliament IS impossible to administer....member countries are not represented as country blocks....but are divided into political groupings so making it very difficult to put your concerns over as a country....those political groupings can within them have quite a range of believes which makes decision making so slow and ponderous that it is quite laughable and painful to watch.....but a United States of Europe would want to defend itself....not have non-european countries interfering in their policies and aims.....and NATO by its name tells you that it has other in its organization other than europeans.

    I'm In.

I have no problem with EU immigrants who bring education, skills and work ethics we otherwise lack across the whole economy from fruit pickers to brain surgeons. We and our children have the same right to work anywhere in Europe and it's up to us whether we choose to take that up but it's a tremendous opportunity we wouldn't otherwise have.

Better Europe wide controls to manage migration when new countries do join the EU are needed to slow the initial tidal wave effect and I'm sure the likes of Germany and the Scandinavians feel the same way about that.

Where I do have a bit more of an issue is immigration from outside the EU. We have a moral obligation to genuine asylum seekers but I fail to see why we should let in those who actually hold the main tenets of our way of life (freedom of speech, freedom of religion, rule of law, equality of gender and race) in contempt. Which brings me to my one and only problem with Europe: we should draft our own Bill of Rights, tear up the Human Rights Act and withdraw unconditionally from the European Court of Human Rights. That way when somebody threatens to behead soldiers in the streets or to massacre Jews, we can put THEM adrift in a small rubber boat if nobody else will take them.

So notDistant.....your for a two tier EU membership....which means that if we try to opt out of things we do not like....we become second tier and sidelined from full membership.... and possibly not being allowed a vote in the things we have cherry picked to not be involved with....now that sounds a dangerous club to be a member of.....surely your fully in or fully out.

PS.....If you lived in the SE of England and especially around London you might find your lifestyle is changed by immigration in away that you have no idea in the south west.

There will be a lot of greens not to keen on Wycombe being around this Christmas ....they haven't forgot how fragile your players were to being tackled and in your time wasting skills.
