I don't see nationalisation of NHS, Rail and Gas as center ground... Corbyn's Labour is pretty far left and the Tories are now very far right (once Boris becomes PM). I'd vote for a Corbyn's Labour at next General Election.
Whose been better? Also, Maggie was a good PM until she started going senile and ignoring her advisers.
The working class in England are voting UKIP. 4 million of them did at the last election. Thier popularity will certainly rise in the next election. The Tories ripped the working class and the poor a new arsehole the five years they were in power before the last election and they still managed to get reelected with a majority government. It's like Turkey's voting for Xmas. This is all down to a massive swing to right in the English electorate. The politics of blame has come to the fore. The country is in a mess and the media tells them it's all down to immigrants and benifit scroungers. The Tory government labours the point and as the old adage goes you tell a lie for long enough and people will believe. No matter how ****ing obviously stupid it is. Labour are a busted flush. Corbyn will never be elected in England unless he renounces his socialist values, dons a brown shirt and promises to kick every paki out of the country. They do say politics is cyclical. England seem to have found themselves in the 1920s Germany as has much of Europe. The far right prevails and that's not going to change any time soon.
**** me you have complex voting habits and you gave your age away when you admitted to voting for Thatcher gramps. I have never voted for any of the lying bastards but I would support J C.
I never voted for Thatcher... I've read up on her policies etc I voted Tory as I believed we needed a few years of pain to sort out failing finances. I did state at the time that after 8 years of pain, I'd be looking towards a progressive party that will start to balance that out.
Aye, they sorted out the finances. Their own. Amazing how quickly the Panama Papers story was brushed under the carpet.
My political views are not based on 1 party's beliefs/manifesto in it's entirety. I vote based on what I believe is right for the country at the time. My last vote at Scottish elections was for greens as I (imo) SNP will hold power in Scotland for at least another 2 terms but I believed the Greens can have an influence (on a issue by issue basis) as SNP wont have a strong majority (if at all) and Scotland need to embrace green technologies etc
