I think me and you should just pair off like opposing MPs. :)

No, to scrapping the League Cup.

How do you organise a winter break, in a country where the winter comes at different times each year?
It is highly probable that the break would be at a time, when the weather is perfect for football, yet when the season restarts games could be called off owing to bad conditions, leading to unnecessary fixture build ups.
Just my opinion, but the break is designed to help the "big clubs" that traditionally participate in European Competition, and if the break is agreed it must surely be on the basis that no club uses the shutdown to play exhibition games, around the world, when they should be "resting and recuperating".

We'd need to win a game in December to do that.

Take your second point, but this is not about weather anymore. Top level games are rarely called off

Shouldn't be at Xmas...British institution. And I agree with St Badger....if it is to give players a break, it should be compulsory...no money spinning tournaments for clubs already too rich.

We wouldn't need a winter break if we didn't try and play 23 games between 5th December and 10th January.

We play too many games over Christmas/New year period

No to scrapping the League Cup, our best chance of winning a trophy!

All for a mid season break but would rather in January cos don't wanna lose Boxing day fixtures etc.

It's the game they shoe horn in between Boxing Day and new year which I find farcical.

Sakho has been sent home from Liverpool's American tour for an attitude problem...apparently including being late and interrupting his manager during an interview. You'd think he'd be keeping his head down at the moment.

No problem with a Boxmg Day match but having a game two days before or after, followed by one a few days after that too, is nonsense.

Agreed - stick to Boxing Day & New Years day, nothing in between, and then the mid-season break for the first two weeks or so of the calender year would be ideal.
