Yep......an old git (58). Lived the first 18 yrs of my life within earshot of the ground. Standing at the Gillingham v Peterborough game in 1974 on a Sunday 'cos of the power strikes in a crowd of more than 13,000 brings back many memories. It's not about associating one's self with a successful team, it's about associating one's self with ones 'home' team. I've worked recently in Oman and Tanzania and am always asked if I support Man U or Chelsea......I always reply..'The Gills' which gets the locals scurrying away to find out about the 'Mzungu's' team. Yeh, aint easy being a Gills fan but I wouldn't have it any other way 'cos when the good times come...............God are they good?!?!?!
And today, 6th April 2013 is a great day to be a Gills supporter. First team in the football league to gain promotion.Interact
