Government says tube use has reduced. So they reduce the number of trains to keep it just as packed as usual.

The cull policy is still in effect.

I took a train last week and had half a carriage to myself. Easy social distancing, plus the train guard said he wouldn't be walking though the carriages. That's how you take sensible precautions.

The world really has gone mad! A candidate went for a second interview for a manufacturing scientist role with a synthetic DNA company last week. On Friday, I found out he was unsuccessful for that, but the hiring manager had contacted a colleague as he felt he was just right for a molecular biologist role there. This morning, I spoke to the candidate, who was aware and had already spoken to the other manager at the company.

At 5.20 pm, I got an email to say they wanted to offer my candidate the molecular biologist role on a basic of £31,000 a year. He's literally only just finished his PhD. I was over the ****ing moon, given the current circumstances. I phoned the candidate to give him the great news, and he said "31,000?". I couldn't believe my own ****ing ears. I actually told him I was shocked he even questioned the amount, and he said it was because he had worked in industry prior to his PhD. I ran through the benefits package (which is good) and reiterated the current world climate, but he wants closer to £35 K. I almost hope the company pulls the offer, the greedy **** <grr>

No probs, he'll see it when brb merges this thread to the PL board

But he's banned from that thread, so then he can reply on the Spurs board

But I'm banned from there so I'll wait for another merger

Probably just as well - if the quote is a representative sample of his reasoning.

Thieves steal oxygen from Manchester hospital

Three men were seen getting out of a black BMW outside Withington Community Hospital on Saturday at 03:30 GMT. They cut a lock on a metal unit before stealing eight oxygen and nitrous oxide canisters.

    Raheem needs his hippy crack.
