He is delighted to be at Rovers, looking forward to meeting the team and shaun, starting the preperation for the match on saturday.<party>

He thought the team worked hard vs Crawley.

The chairman has said that Mcghee has money to spend before the end of the transfer window after he has discussed with Shaun.

Mcghee wants to rebuild the club not just a stepping stone given a 2 and a half year contract Mark was streets ahead of the competition.

He wants to bring in winning football likes to promote passing football wants to score more goals<cheers> however it is not going to be a quick fix they will have to go back to basics and build confidence.

Expectations minimum not in this division, new stadium a part of why he is here not just to fire fight really exiting future with the club in 2 and a half years this time next year looking like we will be challenging for promo!!

McGhee's management career started pretty hastily as he worked for a few clubs in quick succession,Leicester City, Wolves and Reading He then spent some time at Millwall and Brighton and Hove Albion.
    Successes include the following
As a manager winning the Division Two title with Reading in 1994 and Millwall in 2001.
He also reached the FA Cup semi final with Wolves in 1998. He also won the Division Two playoffs with Brighton in 2004.

However, on 18 June 2007, he was appointed new manager of Motherwell and was assisted by Scott Leitch.

Good footballing career as a striker, management some success managed a lot of clubs.........A new start what do you think Gasheads

Will get behind him, not sure they should of give him a two and half year contract because if it does end up like another Buckle situation then it will be another big pay off. Welcome to Bristol Mark McGhee.

I do not think that he is another Buckle, interesting both Bristol clubs have selected a Scottish manager, this could mean that we wil see some more Scots in the team going forward.

I think the fans wanted a manager with a history with the club Curle especially and Tilson.

A positive slant is that he was Sir Alex Fergusons first signing at Aberdeen,he is a striker perhaps we can get the goal machine back on track!

He did as a 16yr old 1973 sign for City however went back North of the border inside 2yrs to play for Morton

Have you ever seen any of his interviews? He makes Alex Ferguson look like a poster boy for Prozac.

I think we have to consider our current predicament, we are in a poor position in L2 ,not a huge amount of funds avaliable to improve the squad as Chuckle has already spent it! dwindling gates.

The positives are that he should have some good contacts in the game to pick up some players and mould a team with an improved formation and hopefully better tactics.............He is vastly more experienced than Chuckle and North at all levels of the game so this can only be an improvement.

He also observed that the match vs Crawley was a Dour performance echo fans comments, ok they tried hard pleased with a point, but hardly the stuff of champions.

A fresh outlook and he is our new manager worth giving him a fair crack. The work starts after the Cheltenham match which looks like a tough game to start with.

Let's face it, in our position to have a manager who's got Premiership experience, even Europe experience with Motherwell, and has achieved promotion on more than one occasion has got to be a result, if you look at the names we've had in the hot seat over the last year or so. Realistically, we've got to write this season off, and look towards getting promtion next season. As far as I'm concerned, he can be as grumpy and Scottish as he likes as long as he gets us up the table a bit. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Agree Ales, good not get carried away its is however a great relief to get some one in with experience that wants to take the challenge, it will take a while to add to ship out and reshape the team to acheive mid table this season.

In the summer with a nucleus of players for next season already inplace add the final ingredient to push up towards the playoffs or auto slots in 2012/13.

<yikes> confident aint he.Thought that his interview was measured and realistic we are there for part of his journey rehabilitation if you are an Aberdeen supporter<wah>

I also feel that this appointment could if the board back him with some reasonable money for players be the start of getting us back on track ....................after the Cheltenham match.

Not sure about the barmy army CJ as some of the fans used that one with Chuckle for Stevenage....:bandit:

    Unless you are being ironic<confused>

He's seen it all, and I like the fact that he is a team builder - he works with the people around him rather than bringing in his entourage. Really good luck to him. Let's get behind this guy, because he really knows his stuff.
