In regards to Glen Murray from News Of The World Football (Chief Football correspondent and C.Palace fan): @mcnulty3095 not coming to us, Southampton all over him.
Players moving from the SPL to the EPL or CCC don't have a great recent history of success, but it could be that quite a few want out to avoid being punched or having letterbombs sent to them. Could be worth having a look up there. Reading football-rumours, there seems to be lots of posts linking us to Michael Owen. Hopefully just people linking a high profile player, who the PL doesn't want, to a CCC team with rich owners. Either that or Cortese bringing him in and showing him around as a smokescreen to what he's actually doing! Would seem a bit strange when we already have an aging, injury prone, championship class striker, who would play for a lot less.
Southampton to sign free agents Gareth Mcauley and Anthony Garner who has been released by Ipswich and Hull to bolster their defence for next season in the Championship. Southampton have contacted Gavin Rae over a possible move. Saints have released midfielder Anthony Pulis. Nicked this off football-rumours.
I'd like us to sign Emmanuel Frimpong on loan from Arsenal for a season. There was a rumour we would get him last summer until he broke his leg.
What is this with M. Owen I know he was spotted at SMS? any one heard anything else.... ??? Seems a little unbelievable to me, purely on the basis of how much he gets paid at Man U. Perhaps he's down here to get a few tips from Channon.
ADKINS DRAWS UP LONG LIST!! I heard (Made up) that Adkins has been a longtime fan of Reading striker Shane Long. He said in a recent interview. Proof if ever it was needed that not only is Adkins here for the long haul, but he has his eye on one of the championships best strikers. Long may this ambition continue
Don't know how possible it is, but I have been really impressed by Borini every time i have seen him play. He is currently on loan at Swansea from Chelsea and I would imagine, based on his performances, that if Swansea go up he will be one of their main targets. However if they don't go up we may be able to attract him here on loan/permanently.
This sounds like a possible because our new Euro scout would more than likely have been involved in bringing him to England in his time at Liverpool.
I know hero was having a laugh but unfortunately Long is too optimistic. Cracking player but even if he doesn't go up with Reading, I'm confident he'll be playing in the Premier League next season.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6939981,00.html CMS surely worth a punt, he'd be brilliant. Although it probably depend if Norwich come back in for him or whether they've changed their targets now.
I'm not sure about CMS. He's really only come alive in his career in the past 18 months. His depth of goalscoring isn't anywhere near on a par with Rickie Lambert. He's couple of years younger and yes, they are different kinds of forwards, but I think with CMS, he could easily be just having the best season of his career right now and may not perform as well again.
I don't really agree. He scored goals for fun when Posh were down here in 08/09, and he was more than decent before that as well (albeit in League Two, and the Conference before that). I would be more than happy at signing him, although I would personally be targetting somone with more than just 12 months worth of Championship experience under their belts.
Surely that's a good thing, that he is now starting to pick up and would improve even more with better coaches and players around him at Saints. Well worth it imo.
Apparently we're in talks with Jay Rodriguez of Burnley according to football-rumours - classy young striker, I'd love it if we signed him. The same site that's telling us that Blackpool are bidding ã750k + Matt Phillips for Puncheon, so it must be true! Cortese is doing a good job of keepig things quiet if that's all I've got
Glenn Murray from Brighton? Wasn't aware he was out of contract. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6941440,00.html
I don't really like him TBH. He goes down like Katie Price's knickers. I know Lee Barnard does that too, but Barnard is a better player IMO.
