We’ve been through this mate, I’ve read L9 and there’s nothing whatsoever in there that they can use. If you think otherwise then throw the terms up and we’ll have a look, otherwise it’s interpretation. They’ll revoke the owner’s vote and so they should, but the players and fans shouldn’t be paying the price, and they won’t.
I’ll repeat again what I said a few days ago, nobody knows what was signed. The media knew nothing about it, so let’s not pretend they all have access to the detail at this point either.
We can disagree about wording and the spirit of the L9 rule, and also the B15 rule that they’ve all also contravened imo, as it’s been done to death and I cba mate. I don’t think the punishment issued, given the thing died within 48 hrs will be draconian tbh. There’ll be no attempt to expel members nor will there be points deductions imo. I think the likely outcome would be a fine, and a threat that any re-occurrence of an attempt to join a ESL or similar in the future that hasn’t been put through the correct channels for review before hand, will result in immediate expulsion. They’ll likely revisit the wording of some of the contractual clauses to remove any semblance of ambiguity, and look to include a scenario that covers a multi club collective breach and how that would alter the %age needed to ratify expulsions. They knew they’d be brought to book and imo they were banking on that the rule breach review process, any appeal and then a potential CAS hearing would provide long enough for them to use their collective leverage to try and convince the PL that they’d somehow be better off sucking this up and keeping them, as opposed to losing them. It goes without saying that they didn’t read the room, likely because they didn’t consult out side the boardroom and most of the ring leaders are absentee Yanks, who just don’t get the game and the power of feeling when it comes to protecting it,
Der Spiegel produced extracts from it the other day, which is where the story around the exit clause for any club choosing to drop out, being £130m came from. Old Perez is still adamant they can’t leave, the barmy old flange.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has approved a rule that would ban clubs who sign up to breakaway competitions from competing in Serie A. Clubs playing in leagues not recognised by Fifa or Uefa will now not be able to play in domestic tournaments in Italy.
Excellent now perhaps masters can stop sucking off the big 6 and do the same here. Maybe approve a takeover to punish them
Dunno why the ESL doesn’t just run post season. There’s 10 weeks between seasons ending and restarting, **** the pre-season **** off against Yeovil and Tampa Bay Foreskins and just tour with it. It’s not as if fans are gonna say “No we prefer it when our players are partying in Marbella thanks”.
I doubt any punishment will happen at all.. Unfortunately there's not been a big power shift. The big 6 still pull the strings.
