Lol. Colin Clarke was great :)

I was wearing my 87 hummel shirt (saints one) at the birth of my 3rd 2 weeks ago. The first I wore the 95/6 (I think) pony chevron and the second the ??? Pahars year??? thick front band one :)

do not forget that bournemouth have a 30-40% sell on clause. I only think he will leave if we get promoted and then relegated-would he want to move out of the premiership where he clearly belongs

i dont care what amount of money is offered we should not sell. He has a long contract here, he obviously wants to be here and we dont need money, we need quality players who will get us into the premier league. He wont become like taarabt because he is a team player and has a great attitude.

his speed is not an issue, he has never been the type of player(walcott) that is a one trick pony of knock it past the defender, run like hell and try to put it somewhere in the penalty box before it reaches the byline. The way he just glides past people, the ball in perfect control on left or right foot waiting for the killer pss or shot at goal-that his his style

If Rodriguez is worth £6 million and Maynard £7 million, then Lallana must be worth at least £10 million. What premier league could realistically afford to spend that on one player, and would want Lallana? I also love that Sunderland board, with people saying he's 'worth a punt for a couple of million'. Just goes to show its not just us Saints fans who are idiots.

£40M with 80% sell on fee, & even then I'd feel hard done by.
He Saint going nowhere, he's happy, down to earth & importantly his parents are great people who care for him, not the money, but his happiness.
Maybe not Mr Southampton yet, but certainly a chance for Master Southampton.

    And nor will we!

We sent out a message with the sale of oxo ( and the on going sale of Punchon) that if he plays for Saints and you want him you better have the cash before you coma a knocking on the Dons door! And that's only if we want to sell him, just look at Punchon we want him gone...... but only on our terms

Very impressed with you boys so far.

Your hammering of us was no flash in the pan. You`ve got quality, confidence and momentum throughout the team and that is a very potent mix.

Will be keeping an eye on your results. Went to put a bet on for you to go up as i think you can go all the way, but odds too short at the mo (you are 3rd favourites behind West Ham and Leicester).

Anyway, well done so far, impressive stuff.

    Thanks very much Phil.

Even before the season kicked-off, we were joint-5th favourites (16/1 for the title, and I think about 5/1 for promotion), so I've never been attracted by our odds. Obviously they're even less attractive now.

Lallana is top quality, but he's worth a lot more to us than he would be to someone else. He's a team player. Take Messi for example. Awesome for Barca but has never mirrored that for the Argies. Barca have built for ages around a nucleus of players and it works like clockwork, we want to do the same. Messi wouldn't reach the same heights if Man City brokethe bank to acquire him, I think Lallana is in a similar boat.

He won't go because he loves the club and could of gone to a prem club before but chose not to.

If chamberlain is worth 15 million, lallana is worth at least 20 million, but personally i think that we should do what barca have done with fabregas and get a 200 million release clause put in his contract, sending out a strong message that we are no longer a selling club.

Please don't be offended, but you are wrong on this occasion. I don't need to know everything, I just need to know the truth of the matter. I certainly don't think I know everything, either. You alluded to an assumption that because no Premiership team had come sniffing around, Lallana must have a weakness somewhere in his play and that was probably his mythical lack of pace.

Plenty of Prem clubs have sniffed around to see if Lallana is available. Cortese has said No, and Lallana himself has said No. This is well reported news from when Lallana signed a new contract with Saints. Of course, we all find it hard to believe that Prem clubs would take notice of anything a Championship club might say, and try to lure the player away, but if the answer NO is firm enough, they will give up. No doubt, they'll try their tactics again sometime later.

None of us always hear all the news on players. For example, I had no idea that Paul Jewel made an enquiry for Rickie Lambert during this close season, but apparently it happened, as confirmed by Jewel himself.

YOU'RE WRONG!!! i have actually said that prem clubs have been after him but he refused,i didn't say he couldn't play in the prem because he's slow,i think you'll find that i said that the top clubs wouldn't be after him because of his lack of being a speed merchant and that he aint big and powerful,i'm sure that if any of the big-uns were interested it would of been reported by now. Please don't tell me i'm wrong again because it seriously pisses me off!

Dear oh dear. I'd hate to see what happens to you when you find out you are wrong. Do you require an exclusion zone..? :D

Lallana loves it here and why not when the teams on fire. I'm sure he wants to play in the Premiership, but he wants to go there with Saints. Nigel has probably told Nicola (if he didn't know already) which players are central to Saints progress and those players are non-negotiable. Nigel could see that Chamberlain wanted out and knew he would disrupt team spirit (if unintentionally), so he could go. I love the bit on the Sunderland board where someone said Lallana might be worth risking a couple of million. So many people only look at the Premiership and know nothing about us...Lallana is beyond price if the target is promotion.
