Top 3 are up there on the basis that they have more wins than everyone else- We have drawn 6 (compared to Sheff U -0) but to be fair, there are several draws that we have that would have been defeats last season, and so I have good reason to feel encouraged. Sheff U I feel may fall away and Leeds were by far the best side we have played yet. Christmas is usually a good indicator of final positions and my feelings are that we would be in Mid table-
Yeah, I think it's unlikely Cardiff will end up outside the top 6 - the furthest I'll go is to say maybe you'd have to be lucky with (lack of) injuries to last the pace to be in the top two.
At the moment we’ve lost the spine of our team. Baker has been what we expected him to be. Patterson has been the likely out source to link up play. And just looking at the last game and half without Smith has shown his worth to the team. It’s the little bits that he does that goes unnoticed. Reading on OTIB, he was injured during our poor run last season but I’m sure he played in some of those games? To be honest, have we got any premiership quality players? I don’t think so, so if and it’s a big if we go up then this team would have to be dismantled and a complete rebuild just to survive. I know it’s horses for coarses but I would like to do it slowly and get a team that’s sort of ready for the Prem. Not like some who no doubt ask “are we there yet?” Whenever they are in a car.
I agree RoD We dont have any or they would probably be there already- Flint and Bryan are the only ones that a Prem club might have thought about and those 2 aren't without faults. the way he is playing at the moment, Baker probably isn't far short. It would need a complete rebuild and it would be better to do it slowly and patiently. I think this is starting to happen.
Guys we have been waiting a bloody long time for a tilt back in the top league.Would love to see it again before I pop my clogs. Let’s get there and worry about the team at that point.
Taking nothing at all away from your result last night, but if you win those next three ties to get European football then I'll doff my hat to you big time. At the moment though, it's back to the nitty gritty and the fact is you're still out of the top 6 of a very competitve division. A win at Sunderland could remedy that. The 3 catchable teams above you, Leeds, Villa and Norwich you have all got tough games and you could leapfrog them all.
The result last night was massive for City - Confidence is key. The performances against Burton and Leeds are forgotten, the Palace game couldn't have been better. And wait till 4-5pm tomorrow, the feelgood factor will go again. Sunderland will play a different City after last night. ps - I really liked Junior's interview post Palace. Where's me tablets.
Morning Sparkey (Actually Evening but you know) Taylor & BCFC are a disgrace broken nose fixed in .... 4 days its a miracle Hallelujah Hallelujah god works in wonderful ways or a liar is always a rat ?
The phrase 'Dirty Leeds' exists for a reason. Now sod off back to Yorkshire and stroke your whippet....
Let Leeds bask in the glory of their little footballing upset Saturday. They'll be clinging onto it for ages; '...Eee-oop son, I remember t'time when we beat Bristol City, 3-0 at Ashton Gate way back in 2017.........' 'Wow, did we really dad?!!' Remember, our winning streak back in our promotion year under Cotts was ended by Swindon Town - they were chirping on about that for ages afterwards - it turned out to be the highlight of their season, whilst we went on to do the double. Swindon fans don't chirp much now.... I seem to remember there was a cheating red card in that game too........!
Lived in Leeds for 3 years and went to several games as a neutral, have to say the ground lacked a lot of atmosphere even though it was at the time they were competing in the Champions League , saw them play Real Madrid and think they touched the ball twice the whole game. Not even the top side in yorkshire anymore.
Steady on old boy, one Swallow doesn't make a Summer and all that. I for one was delighted with the result and performance against Palace, but only after Duric came on did we press and look like a threat. Had that not have happened, then it could have been a very different outcome.
I haven't crated anything - in fact I haven't even sent a parcel for years..... Can't understand why some local supporters don't want to get involved with visitors on the forums. Maybe that's why shiny had to ask for some more support as a lot of locals turn more and more introspective?
