What a player, seemed to have all the time in the world when the ball was at his feet, can't rightly understand why he's been left out for so long to be perfectly honest
Not quite an embarasment of riches, but getting there. I think Colin is still working towards his ideal formation but Tomlin pulling the strings just behind the 9 looks the way to go. NML and Junior appeared back to their early season best. 3 goals from open play with our 2nd and 3rd choice strikers netting. It'll keep Ken on his toes. 4231 would be my preferred plan A with Hoilett, Tomlin and NML being the 3 which will look even better once gunner is back. With Loic and Bryson able to maintain the energy in the boiler room there will be no respite for the opposition. The options we have just shows what a decent coaching team can do for a club. Makes the money spent by other clubs look all the more silly. Still a long way to go and the wheels could still come off, but you have to be enthused by what is happening at the club. Even Tan is taking an interest again.
Must say that Tomlin and Paterson made a huge difference. Considering they both looked well short of match fitness to me, they can only get better. Tomlin is different class at "No 10" and could still be the key to our season come May. You get what you see with Peltier. Warnock favourite who's a strong man to man marker and gives his all, but beyond that nothing. I hope Bennett isn't too damaged. Hoilett and Mendez playing again like they did the first half dozen games of the season sparked the side last night - Ipswich couldn't cope with them. Quite impressed with Bogle but again needs more game under his belt - will he get them though? Ward looks like becoming the club's "supersub" and if Zohore is ready he'll play at Bristol. Otherwise another start for Omar is on the cards. Not sure about the middle of the park spots though. I still don't see Bamba as a natural fit. Perming the right 3 (or even 4 if you look at it that way) from Ralls. Tomlin, Gunnar, Damour and Bryson will be crucial. Long term Bamba should only be a last ditch option. He's a centreback and needs to get back alongside Morro. Unless we play with 3 centre backs and use Paterson and Bennett to push on wide, Manga will have to wait for another chance. You can't do better than take all three points and after that stalemate against Millwall it was welcome relief. Excellent win for the Wurzels at Fulham last night sets up next Saturday to be a corker.
If Gunner & Zahore are fit it’s going to be a difficult choice for NW. Suspect he’ll go 5 at the back which would mean one of the midfielders miss out.
I suspect if this was the last game of the season and we needed 3 points Zohore / Gunner / Bennett would all play. I doubt they will play. We should be too good for the carrot munchers even with a weakened side. Of course being at full strength would give us a better chance. But its a long season and I dont think risking a long term injury is worth it.
I doubt it's necessary but I think Warnock will go for the draw and hope for the win. To do that he'll have to pack the midfiled to stop them playing. That could be the best option and hit them on the counter with pace. We have the ability to do that now that we didn't before this season.
Hilts - I think Warnock will hope to win ths one rather than going to win it, but would settle for a point right now. The Wurzels being thrashed by Leeds couldn't have been pleasant, but to draw any conclusions from their performance against Leeds and our hammering of them a couple of weeks earlier could be a mistake. They'll most certainly have the greater possession but we play better on the break anyway. Just hope we don't sit back and invite them on from the start.
Probably a point anywhere away in this league is a point gained. We lost to Birmingham and Preston so of course we could lose. But even without Zohore and Gunner we have better players all over the pitch. We should win.
Isn't Tomlin due back at Leicester Crown Court tomorrow November 3rd? That was the fortnight's grace given by the Judge for the defence and prosecution to come to some agreement on the case..
I think that was the best 50 mins I've seen from a City play maker for a very long time, he was brilliant.
Lee Tomlin and Billy Kee appearing in Court No. 4 at Leicester Crown Court today. It's a plea hearing after the Judge gave the defence and prosecution a fortnight to discuss the case and where it was going.
I hope you enjoyed it as they are few and far between and raely, if ever for longer than 50 mins. I hope he plays on Saturday as it will open up big gaps for our players to exploit. A great individual player, but not really a team player.
You may be right there. Except for last Tuesday when he was a different class, we haven't had the opportunity to judge him. Hopefully he can pull a few strings for our front 3. We've had no one at the club since Whitts as he was a few years back and McPhail before that. We got the reputation of being long ball merchants because of it. Being direct can work when you haven't got the pace we have now. We are a different prospect for oppositions this season and will surprise a few.
As Sparks said we have not had the opportunity to judge as yet but Tuesday night he ran things and his passing was sublime. He worked well for the team, he need to see him playing more.
