Doesn't that go for anyone who's a knobhead but does the business for your team? Still a **** though for the things he does that makes him a ****.

Alli does well for us but he's still a prick for his antics though and why should I not be able to see that as a 41 year old bloke with a mind of his own?

 

I don't disagree. But there have always been certain players (Roy Keane, John Terry, Vardy etc) for whom ****ishness is often indivisible from greatness. And others, like Robbie Savage, who were far from greatness, but whose ****ishness you would definitely forgive if he was your player.

 

Vardy seems like the type of guy that will mouth off in a pub to start a fight and when the trouble starts, run behind his mates.

 

And then try and get off with his best mate's bird, after he'd dug him out the ****

 

Definitely not true. Having read his book he got in a lot of trouble in his younger days for defending mates and getting involved in situations where many (myself included) would walk away and not risk the agro.
Anyway, he definitely does do some ****ty things on the pitch and is definitely an ‘our twat’ kind of player. I prefer to focus on positives like him putting his own money and time into the V9 academy and so far having provided the opportunity for 4 players become professional footballers

lol, as if he'd write "I used to start fights and then run to find my mates". Charity is a good way to reduce your tax bill, and good PR to pretend you did it out of the goodness of your heart, rather than for the £. TBH the Leicester player that I really can't stand is Huth, he should get sent off every match, you can tell his been coached by Pulis and his Portuguese counterpart as he's a dirty cheating sly ****.

 

From reading the book I do think at times he bigs things up a bit but the whole point of the book is to be based on fact. There was also legal records and the fact he was on the tag to prove what happened. He’s clearly rough (given where he’s from) but it seems trouble often found him not the other way round.
As for charity, I know there would be other motives as well but it doesn’t take from the fact he’s helped those guys achieve a dream. Also other premier league players don’t queue up to do stuff like it. It was a good series on Sky one recently actually about his academy.
Huth hasn’t been involved at all this season. Typical old school defender who 20/30 years ago you wouldn’t bat an eyelid at but in the current climate does go too far

 

You are quite right ... one other thing ... he's quite a tough little fcuker ... played a long time with a broken wrist and always seems to get up when clattered .. marked contrast with the likes of Sturridge at Liverpool .. "ooooer boss ... looks a bit cold and me IBS is playing up"

 

which he had in a plaster that he used to clothesline people with. You should've seen what I used to get up to with my broken knee, it was very well protected encased in it's plastic plaster

Nah, there has been a lot that has crept in over the last 20/30 years that would've meant bookings and penalties back then, and 50 years ago the strikers would've kicked him into submission.

 

When I was a kid players like Chopper Harris, Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter, etc would think nothing of kicking you into the third row of the crowd.

It was semi legal too. Players like Bestie got a kicking every week.

 

He just is one of those players... like Nsis says, not so much a diver but very sneaky and dirty... niggly little fouls where he knows what he's doing etc.

Good player, but definitely got that in his game too, like a lot of midfielders tbh.

 

Meanwhile, in La Liga, this was a yellow card..!!... unfuckingbelievable!..

One of my favourite stories from that era is from Frank Worthington's autobiography. Playing for Huddersfield against Liverpool in a cup tie, FW nutmegged the legendary Tommy Smith. After the ball had gone out of play, Smith jogged up too him, and in easy hearing distance of the ref, said "do that again son, and I'll break your ****ing back". Worthington asked, "did you hear that ref?", to which the ref allegedly replied "he was talking to you, not me".

If we're talking sly and dirty then Mark Noble is up there with the worst, constantly in the ear of referees.

 

The Barcelona team are the biggest cheats I have ever seen and all the refs in Europe fall for it/encourage it. They are much more favoured than Los Ladrones

 

He doesn't invite contact, he initiates it then goes down. He's a cheat.
Alli cheats when he dives. He deserves to be criticised for it and Spurs fans lead that criticism.
Why can't you even admit that your player does it, despite the evidence?
