Not having possession doesn't equate to letting the other team play, if that was the case there would be no whinging about "parking the bus" <ok> :emoticon-0100-smile

    Piss off thunder ****.

On a separate note, I called Moreno a thunder **** earlier and I quite like it, might use it more often.

    My ratings:

Karius 7: None of the goals his fault and he pulled off a couple of worldies. Still a bit flappy at crosses though.

Gomez: 5 Tonight he looked like a centre-back playing at full back. Got turned inside out that often that his head will probably still be facing backwards when we play Chelsea.

Lovren: 6 Not his worst game for us by a long chalk, though that doesn't say much.

Klavan ;5 What on earth was that header at the end? He and Lovren were not the problem though.

Mongeno: 2 As bad as the second half in the final at Basle. That said, then he had no cover whatsoever from Coutinho playing left-half (?), tonight it was Mane who was the culprit.

Hendo: 4 It must be hard to pay in a DM 2 when neither of you are DM's. That said, the whole game (not just the second half), he was caught on the ball or simply gave it away.

Windy: 5 Was hoping he'd be able to get his foot on the ball and close things down in the second. Very iffy.

Ford: 5 Beautiful ball in the first half got wasted, but terribly anonymous even when we had so many chances in the first half.

Mane: 4 Okay, a wonderfully taken goal, but otherwise - chances missed and HIS feeble tackle infront of Moreno led to the foul that led to the goal. I blame Jurgen though, as this is just what happened against Sevilla in that final.

Salah: 5 Missed several chances (again) but was utterly nowhere to offer cover when Sevilla attacked the flanks in the second half.

Bobby: 7 Sweated blood for the cause, but he too missed a sitter.

    Subs:

Milner: 6 Steadied the ship, but should have been on from the start of the second half in place of on one of Mane, Salah or Ford, as should have Ox.

Ox: 5 An open goal and Milned missed an easy side ball to him.

Can 5: Helped steady things, but went through about ten minutes of disappearing. It was a lazy pass that was intercepted when Mane had an open goal, not just a desperate tackle.

Team 4.5 : I know Sevilla hit a post and had chances in that first half, but so did we and could, and should have been four or five up at half time. Even in the second half, we missed three or four more, and if you're going to play ice-hockey football you need to score all (or at least two-thirds) of your chances. A third just ain't good enough.

Jurgen: 3.5 : No reason to come out for the second half not knowing that Sevilla, just like in Basle, were going to throw everything at us at the start of the half, especially down our unprotected flanks. it has to be said, Jurgen is very, very slow to react to changing circumstances in a game:far too slow.

So frustrating that we could have topped this group easily with a game to spare. It’s still in our hands though so not too worried.

The annoying thing is that even at HT, I wasn’t confident.

The goals we conceded were comical - Moreno will get most of the blame (rightly so), but Mane could and should have done better with his clearance for the first goal and Coutinho probably should have booted it instead of passing to Moreno who was already under pressure.

But Gini and Hendo went missing - such a crucial time in the game to get on the ball, keep it and control the game.

Imagine how good we would be if we had a defence and a midfield. Said it before, being an attacker in this team must be so infuriating because they score 3 goals and the people behind them let them down.

The same problems then. We have rubbish defenders without any protection in front of them.

Henderson completed 55% of his passes. Won zero tackles.
    No aerial duels.

I’ll try and get Gini’s stats as well.

Whilst Moreno gifted goals and momentum, we needed players to step up and get on the ball. No one did that.

It's the same story and as much as I agree with the criticism of Moreno it's not all down to him. What do we expect of a captain of Liverpool? I'm certain that I don't see any of the answers in Jordan Henderson.

The question for me is what do I see in a top central midfielder - none of the answers are in Jordan Henderson.

But at the same time, he isn’t the only one. It was a collective bottle job from all of them.

Apparently, Naby Keita was excellent tonight. Can’t wait for him to join us, will give our central midfield some much needed dynamism.

Not even that surprising of a result really. How many times have we seen teams apply pressure to us in the 2nd half snd get the late goals they need. Seems to happen every month.

Yep, when teams apply an ounce of pressure, we crumble. They can just walk right through us.

Yes he does look a good player. If we can sign a defender in Jan plus Keita it'll start looking better. We just have to keep our forwards then.
