Sunderland host Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship Last time out Sunderland drew with Wolves and Fulham beat Birmingham. Sunderland could have McManaman, N’Dong and Jones back in contention but Lee Cattermole serves a one game suspension for his dismissal last week. Fulham secured their third win in four Championship games thanks to a third goal in four games from on-loan Liverpool winger Ojo and a missed penalty from Birmingham. Chris Coleman: “The situation for us is that it is a home game, The history we have got of not winning at home for so long - it is not about the opposition it is about ourselves. We have got to exercise our demons there, we need to overcome our own obstacles to make sure we change our fortune at the Stadium of Light." “I know Fulham very well, I spent 10 years there as a player and manager but that won’t come into my thinking. All that will be there is thinking, ‘how do we get what we need on Saturday on the back of what I felt was a courageous performance at Wolverhampton?’ “The guys were fabulous on the day, they stuck to their guns, stuck to the job and helped each other out – I was delighted with that.” Slavisa Jokanovic: "We must be satisfied that this is the second time that we have won at home with a clean sheet. "This is good news for us, we are solid at the back and we believe Birmingham only had one attempt on the target. "We try to play with a different shape, to create the chances and score the goal. I believe we dominated the game and did enough to score more goals." Match facts: Sunderland beat Fulham 2-1 in their final home game of the 2005/6 (15 point) season after failing to win any of their previous home league games. The Fulham manager on that day was Chris Coleman. Chris Coleman is set to face Fulham for the first time as a manager - Coleman managed 176 matches for the Whites between 2003 and 2007. The west Londoners have benefitted from a joint-league high (along with Bolton and Reading) two own-goals this season in the Championship. Sunderland have kept clean sheets in two of their last three league matches - as many as they had managed in their previous 32 combined. Sheyi Ojo has had a hand in four goals in his last four league matches for Fulham (three goals, one assist). I want to say we'll win but a succession of years in which I've had my chips heartily pissed on just as I've been about to eat one has taught me to be wary about getting carried away with one good performance. In all honesty I think we'll lose because showing signs of recovery then stomping on them is what we do. If we do get a win though it'll put Coleman's time with us in a positive light because he's done alright so far and I'll let myself believe that we're going to win again.
We will win because it’s Fulham like it was in 2006, On the other hand , a bad record is available so we’ll probably go all out to make sure we grab it. No idea what will happen on this one
Would like to see; ------------------------Ruiter------------------- -------Browning--Oshea--Wilson------ Matthews------------------------Galloway ------Honeyman-Gibson-Gooch------ --------------Vaughan--Grabban---------
Fulham on a roll so I just cannot see us winning, tho like you all I am hoping the dreadful run ends. 1-1 for me. Bart
I'd like to see: ----------------------- Ruiter ------------------- ----- Browning --- O'Shea --- Wilson ----- Love -------------------------------- Matthews --------------------- N'Dong ------------------- ------- McManaman -- Gooch ------------- -------------------- Vaughan ------------------ -------------------- Grabban ------------------
I'd go Ruiter Browning --- O'Shea --- Wilson Love -------------------------------- Matthews McNair N'Dong -----------Honeyman Gooch Grabban
He has been in a flat back 4 but I think a wingback position could suit him better. Plus it keeps Matthews on the right and not shoe horned into the left. Add to the fact Donald Love is possibly the worst professional footballer I've ever seen....
Could be very tricky as Fulham are on a high and they have some talented championship level players. I hope I'm wrong. I'm not ready to leap too far ahead as Fulham seem on a high - as long as we are at least a point better off on Saturday night 3 points needed after this game though.
We will be winning 1-0 with a goal from Rodwell after he gets past 8 Fulham players and the goalie, then an invisible alien from that new solar system comes down and scores the eqauliser in the 96th minute, so keeping our record run going. We are winning until a hailstorm starts in the 90th minute and the game gets called off. Sunderland have 50 shots on goal and score one and Fulham have one and deflects of a seagull, onto O Shea's arse, off the bar off the post and into the net.
