http://www.maxwellhicks.com/2018/01/12/the-day-the-swansea-way-went-south/ Pinched from Planet Swans.. A good read though. Pity Laudrup couldn't be in charge of our club..
I've always believed the right decision was made to sack him. The results under Monk for 18months proved to be the correct decision.
Man Utd and Arsenal (twice) ....Man U at the time were hardly world beaters, neither were Arsenal. The style started to change, as did personnel and we have never recovered. Most people recognize his time in charge we the start of the slide.
Yes, the style etc changed under Monk, but it was very effective in the league during his first season. It went tits up in the second season when he lost the dressing room after the apparent Dyergate, got replaced by a cheap option, who was then replaced by a clown, who was then replaced by a cheap option again, and so the cycle has continued. Judas, in my opinion, has done more damage to our style of play than Monk ever did - who signed Jonjo for example? His way of play was never good enough for the Swansea Way, i.e. quick, one, two touch passing. For years, numerous fans had called for plans B and C, and in his first 16-18 months, he did exactly that, getting wins with various ways of play.
