I agree. Players are getting away lightly for me, if they can't put into practice what they work on in training what more can the manager do? They should take some responsibility. There's an interesting thread on Dave Mac's Twitter page today about tactics and formation, in essence its suggesting be careful what you wish for and that most QPR managers in the last 20 years have largely avoided fans wishes for knee jerk formation changes because it doesn't go well.
Perhaps they didn't use their initiative. They certainly didn't from where I was sitting. How do you you know we didn't practice successfully?. Ollie seems to think we did, but didn't carry what we learned in to the pitch. All I am saying is yes, Ollie is not the best for us going forward, but just because he isn't he is not entirely to blame.
I'm presuming he meant practising for when Forest were in possession, i may be wrong but that's what it sounds like. How do you practise for that when you don't know who will be in possesion at that precise moment your 'practise scenario' or what posiion on the pitch they will be or what options will be available or taking into account any mis placed passes/deflections etc. Like I said it's 'robotic coaching' , totally out of date in the modern game.
I blame it largely on luongo being off the pace in the middle He looked ill and very slow The whole drive and tackle got lost Ollie should have replaced him after 20 mins with manning to see if it. Helped
Our main problem is we are not testing out alternative wing backs or trying 442 Either would do Then we could just argue over smythe or washington
Well, if we in the business of picking out individual players to answer for yesterday's debacle... Onuoha - one of those games that he has all too often. His first touch and passing is dire and you just know he is going to gift several chances. Luongo - I am genuinely coming to the conclusion that he simply doesn't like the cold weather. Way off the pace. Wszołek - After a promising start he has been very much found out this season. We were crying out for good crosses but as usual only about 1 in 4 of his attempts actually makes it into the box and far fewer gets past the first defender. Scowen - looked determined to get sent off. Couldn't even manage that. On a brighter note Eze looked lively when he came on and showed the kind of skillful touches that the rest of the squad can only dream about. But quite why Furlong or Manning weren't also given a chance given the problems discussed above only IH will know. The much vaunted focus on youth seems extremely limited from where I sit.
From many of the above posts it's clear that many of the weaknesses we have known about all season are still prominent. Add that to a manager who appears very inflexible in his approach to team selection, tactics and formations and it is clear to see why no progress is being made. Ask yourselves which players have improved during Ollie's 15 months in charge? Then ask how many players appear to be going backwards career-wise? The January window was very telling, no offers for players we thought would have been on their way. The malaise that has afflicted our club for so long appears just as prevalent as ever, only when a manager is appointed who has a clear vision of how a club should be run from top to bottom will we make progress. Money is not the answer although it helps, it is the right set-up that is geared to improving all our players and playing the game the right way. So far everything TF has done since he bought the club has been papering over the cracks and, frankly, I don't envisage any great change coming soon...
I’ll stick with the team through thick and thin and will always renew my season ticket. I just want to see some progress and since Ollie came back we seem to be getting worse every season until we will eventually go down.
Credit where credit is due. My hat goes off to you. I haven't travelled away for a while and won't until the Muppet buggers off back to crap tv punditry. Can watch better football down the park
I actually think I'm becoming embarrassed for him. He is a nice guy but just so basic and tactically inept.
