Also worth noting that our goal difference is now only five or so better than the teams around us. That can quickly turn around to be level with other relegation rivals.
It's the other thing that Palace need praise for. Not only have they tried to get at Spurs, Utd and Chelsea in their last three games, but their GD has only taken a three goal hit over that spell. Ours took that just against Newcastle. And that's with Palace being without both their first choice CBs.
Aguero injured for tomorrow. It shouldn't matter, but Stoke's chances of getting something have slightly increased.
Pel a grino may be a nice guy even though he sounds like a white wine but nice guys win nought. We can't sack him now but let's for God's sake hope we stay up somehow and get rid 5 secs after survival is achieved (If in deed it is). ****ing hopeless is an understatement......
It's a bigger gamble not to sack him at this point. I don't know who could replace him but that's not the point, literally almost anyone would be fine by me. Hell I'd take at least half of the posters on here over him at this point
In fact, this is the absolute most-rational time to sack him (beyond several previous rational times to sack him). Three weeks until our next, hugely important league game, and with a mini training camp on the horizon? It doesn't get much better than that.
My mate just sent me this.,., gulp. It is the League after 37 games (his view; he supports Toon). We play City, hammers player Everton.
That's why we let Theo go to Everton!! (Morgan and Martina can save us too, if they get on the pitch)
Sacking this useless manager right now will solve very little............We have had two managers from the continent and both have made our players play a style they are totally unused to..........The players themselves seem to be totally confused.........It surely has to be obvious to our board that the continental way does not totally work in the English league. Saints were always known for the "have a go style". Yes we have had a few clangers loosing "8-2 and an 8-1" if memory serves our worst defeats. (Although we were not relegated in either season that happened I don't think). Although we didn't have the standard of player we are supposed to have now. The question that keeps going through my mind....is it the standard of players we have.......the mix perhaps.........or is it really the standard of manager..................I have not mentioned the board as they just seemed to be next to useless, unless their hands are tied. If that is the case maybe we need a whistle blower????? In all my years through good and bad I have never been so disappointed in Southampton football club...........
The press are beginning to catch up now. Crap article, but a namecheck for Ides in there... https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/southamtpon-mauricio-pellegrinos-neat-timidity-relegation/
“Then a Unicorn turned up” Yes, that’s our season right there in those words. I did see those chaps on Saturday.
