West Ham United have confirmed the club are in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over midfielder Scott Parker.

oh well, not really a big deal, always seemed a pretty unrealistic target for us and bound for a bigger club, would've been gold if he's come

Hes a great player but Defence is where we should be looking especially if Barton & SWP deals come to fruition

This is what Parker was waiting for.He wants to go to spurs, money is irrelevant in this case.I believe he was Neil's first choice, and Barton second. If he doesn't join **** knows who his third choice is!

I would have loved us to sign Scott Parker, but Spurs were always going in pole position

Parker would have been a great signing, but there you go.
Anybody else finding it difficult to resist the temptation to WUM mercilessly on the West Ham board about their good luck in keeping the pornographers as owners rather than the dodgy Tony Fermandes?

As talksport said earlier Parker for £7m or Barton for free I know who I'd have. :)

Except if you work out his wages over 4 years it works out at 14 million!

And how much would have Parker's been in addition to the £8m transfer fee?

Also, it's only £14m if he stays the four years.

We could flog him for £4m or £5m after two good seasons, resulting in a total cost (fee and wages) of around £2m.

    I'd take that.

Once we signed Barton, any interest in Parker was dead in the water.

Surely signing Barton over Parker is more a commercial decision made by some astute businessmen? Not saying Parker would have signed for us anyway but in choosing who to pursue, the board would have weighed it all up pound for pound. I think Barton is a better deal but only time will tell.
