This is probably already posted elsewhere but I cannot see it. Poch has signed a new deal keeping him with us till 2023. Excellent From BBC website: Manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new five-year contract with Tottenham, keeping him at the club until 2023. Pochettino joined Tottenham in May 2014, securing top three finishes in the last three seasons. "I am delighted we have agreed a new, extended contract with Mauricio," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. First-team coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Toni Jimenez have also agreed new contracts. Spurs are preparing to return to a re-built White Hart Lane for the 2018-19 season after playing last season at Wembley Stadium. "I am honoured to have signed a new long-term contract as we approach one of the most significant periods in the club's history and be the manager that will lead this team into our new world-class stadium," said Pochettino. "This is a special club - we always strive to be creative in the way we work both on and off the pitch and will continue to stick to our principles in order to achieve the success this club deserves." Former Southampton boss Pochettino recently passed 200 games as a Premier League manager and the Argentine guided Spurs into the Champions League for the third successive campaign in the new season. "We have been on an extraordinary journey and the times ahead look even more exciting as the club enters the next phase in its history," added Levy. "Mauricio has fostered an incredible spirit in the team and has embraced a style of play our fans have loved watching. I know they will welcome this commitment by Mauricio."
It's hard to imagine any better news. Mauricio Pochettino, Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Tony Jimenez are absolutely critical to the future of our club.
When that song played at the final game at WHL and we all sang along my daughter burst into tears...not me though
Well done Mr Levy thats the perfect start for our summer business, coaching staff sorted now some quality additions to the playing staff please
I was so worried that he could be tempted away if he felt our ambition did not match his. This is superb - new stadium - same manager.
Fantastic news another kiss my to the hacks.we are building a dream so glad poch is still gonna be a big part in that . COYS
#thfc BREAKING: Poch & his staff have signed new 5-year deals until 2023. He has received assurances from Levy that there will be significant funds to spend this summer to take the club to the next level. A host of key players set to follow. — Dan Kilpatrick (@Dan_KP) May 24, 2018
He don't wanna be here so that'll be highly unlikely. I'd rather Jan, Eriksen, Dele, Kane, Son, Hugo, Davies and Trippier all signed new deals before him anyway. They seemingly wanna be here and played a strong part in a good season for us.
All this squad harmony stuff is fine, but after the Modric saga I am quite brutal on stuff like this, If his sale is not necessary to buy replacement/new players, and I assume that his current wages are easily accounted for over the next two seasons, then I want Spurs to keep Toby until 2020. There will be enough domestic cup games + low risk UEFA ties for him to play in, at the very minimum. Attitude and performance will determine whether he gets more games and (dare I say) a wage increase. Time for Spurs to make the stand on this matter.
We can't, we can only keep him for 1 more season, then he has a £25m buyout clause. We could ignore it like Liverpool did with Suarez (apparently) but by law we have to sell to anyone who bids £25m from Aug 2019. So we then have to decide if another year is worth £30m + wages. I personally would get rid of anyone not bought into the plan.
.... and? If I have been mislead on his terms, then let me know. I'd love to know he's staying another year without penalty, but that's not what's being said
