I can live with MP staying with Spurs over every club bar RM and PSG. If they ever do come calling we should receive decent compensation. If he went to Chelsea it would have been Sol Campbell all over again.

He's no Sol Campbell. He's a very decent bloke, which is very unusual for anyone in top level football. He doesn't have an agent and he negotiates for all of his coaching team as well as himself........

"He's not called Gus and he's not called Alfie and he don't want to go to Chelsea."

Real Madrid I can understand, one of the biggest clubs in the world and best league in the world imo.

PSG though I don’t see the fascination, winning the French league with them is about as hard as winning the Scottish league with Celtic. I know he played for them but still, leaving Spurs for PSG would seem bizarre to me.

He's proving to be a very good manager.
Only lacks some tactical awareness - as evidenced v Juve at Wembley - but that will come with experience.
He has to be credited with the development of young players who might not have got the same opportunities under cheque book managers. Kane & Alli being the obvious ones.

Happy as Larry about Poch. He's not perfect but I think it is fair to say the man has transformed the entire mentality of the club over his time with us. I sit here today and no matter his flaws I cannot think of a single other man I would want to be manager of our club.

Toby needs to remember that there is a reason that a few years ago he was languishing on Athletico's bench and facing another year at Southampton before we picked him up. He's been a class act on the pitch through 90% of his time with us but if we have to **** him over and sell him to some foreign climes where nothing happens then so be it. We owe him nothing.

I hope he signs a new deal but it does seem unlikely. I hope Spurs refuse to sell to City or Utd unless we get an ridiculous offer of big money and players.

For example I’d sell him to Utd if it meant big money plus Martial.

If he genuinely turned his attitude around I would welcome him back with open arms. Redemption has to be possible for all but a select few. Rose the same.

Would I take £40m or more plus Martial for Toby though? Ultimately yes though I'd have Rashford if possible out of the two.

He's 29 and can leave in a year for £25M.
A transfer now can't realistically be for more than £40M - less than Martial would fetch.
Unless Utd are prepared to take a huge financial hit to land the player. Surely the club can't be that profligate

£40m might be a bit light. If there's positions that you can play at the top level until 35 or 36, then goalkeeper or centre half would be those positions. Chelsea got £40m for Matic at a similar age and he's probably got half the legs in him that Toby has. Plus, prices are going up still.

I reckon a bit more than what Citeh paid for Walker should do it. If it's only £40m, Spurs might be tempted to keep him for a season and see what happens. Plus, United have money to burn and if Mourinho wants him and nobody else, then a deal will get done. Woodward eventually coughs up and nobody at United wants another Lindelof or Bailly, do they?

Whether we get Martial almost certainly depends on the player himself. If he kicks up a fuss and says that he'll only go to Spurs, it might happen. From what I see of him, I don't think that he's that type. He seems a bit intimidated by United and especially by the angry little Portuguese bloke but we'll see what watching France playing in the WC, whilst he's at home scratching his bum, does for him

Spurs wouldn’t sell for £40million unless it was £40million plus Martial or Shaw

Might as well keep him an extra year and sell for £25million next summer if he’s only going to fetch £40million.

  14. If Toby really kicks off over a move then we could always sell him to the Spanners for £150m.
Now that would show him!! <laugh>
