I have an intense dislike for Bale. Always have.

With that said, he was probably man of the match. Thought it odd Real taking Isco off... But that's why Zidane Is manager and I'm not. Bale changed the game.

I think we prob would have nicked it if Salah wasn't fouled out of the game. Ramos is an expert at that sort of ****ery, him and Nacho with an embarrassing display of gamesmanship.

All can be proud of the performance but the injury-plauged limitations of our midfield were exposed today.

1-1 and extra time with a semi-competent keeper.

    Karius Wept
    Judas IsKarius

As if it wasn't hard enough he made it even more difficult. Someway this just shows we have to invest in a worldie goalkeeper.

I hate Ramos with a passion but Real Madrid quality came through for them.

    I am not even angry

He isn't up to it. Simple as that. He looked good before we upped our level with Mane, Firmino & Salah. He hasn't been helped by injuries in last 6-12 months. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but a 4321 with Solanke up top could hardly have done worse.

:emoticon-0159-music Gareth Bale, he's one of our own:emoticon-0159-music

    Karius ffs <laugh>

On a serious note unlucky lads, Real probably the better side but must be gutting that the two winners were such dreadful mistakes.

Never mind though, there's always next year :bandit:

nah you played really well, and can't complain about anyone and could have ground the game out.

but jaffa is correct in that you still need cover. You kept Real at arms length and they weren't really creating much but without Salah, you boys didn't really look a threat except when you had some corners.

Which is really amusing considering for the vast majority of the last 20 years we've been terrible at corners.

I'm surprisingly in good enough form.

Good first team ...need competition/cover that can almost do the same job.

    Midfielders coming.

    Hopefully now a keeper coming.

    On to next year!

Well done lads for getting to the final! Been great watching the football played getting there.

    LET'S GET PISSED!<cheers><ale><bubbly><diva>

From the whistle it had Real's name written on it: Salah going off injured, Mane hitting the post, Bale's fluke overhead without aiming (I'm sorry, I've never rated overhead kicks, always a fluke), Karius with the most idiotic assist for Benzema and Karius chucking another into the net from a speculative Bale effort. Gifted them the trophy.

Could spend hours talking about how pathetic Ramos is with his playacting and diving, but not even worth it.

Aside from all that ****e, thought we were alright, certainly not outclassed by Real at all. They had very few opportunities despite all of their possession and thought we defended well and had a few chances of our own.

Maybe not this year, but we've made huge steps forward to even be in a position to play in the final! Few shrewd signings (midfield, forward and keeper) and we'll be rocking Europe again next season.

Me too. Never expected a final this year, hopefully won't be another 11 years until the next one.

Klopp's the best Liverpool manager I've had the pleasure to watch that hasn't won a final for us.

I don't think you were unlucky and Real Madrid just had to much know how for your team. Two things changed the game for me. First one was Salah being done by Ramos. I do think he was done and Ramos knew exactly what he was doing and meant it. Whilst Salah was leading your line you were on top and looked a threat without really making chances. The second was your Keeper. Oh dear what a feck up not once but twice. He must wish he could dig a hole and jump in right now. You absolutely need a better keeper than Mr Bean. No blame for Bale's first goal for anyone. World class and not many keepers if any would have got to that. Bale could probably try that again a hundred times and fail but when it comes off boy does it look brilliant.

At least you have qualified for next season so have another crack at it. Thought the majority of your boys had decent games and the young guns will have learned a lot from the game. Best of luck next time.

You've had a great run lads, you should be proud, it was a big occasion, one that Madrid are used to, and that makes a difference, the keeper howler is nerves, funny as hell though!................<laugh>

At the beginning of the season if you had said we would get top four I would have been happy. The final of the CL was a bonus and it was a great ride. We have a good first eleven when all are fit, but no real depth to the squad, and it is a squad game these days

Yup no doubt we lack cover and it’s why we can’t challenge on multiple fronts.

When you sub bench is solanke, Ings, Moreno and Klavan up against bale, asensio, kovacic then you almost have no right to be up against them.

Hopefuly now we have a manager who is who is buying the right players 90% of the time so we don’t have to keep chopping and changing. We can actually keep a settled side, and add to the squad rather than having to re create the team again.

Missing Ox was huge as well as he’s the one the who drives in midfield.

    Positives:

Mane. Has had a good season, he's been overshadowed by Salah, almost any other team and he would be a star. He was again good today.

Full backs. When was the last time we had a good full back on both side of the field that you could be proud of.

Lallana 's skin. It really did look soft and smooth.

Centre backs. They both did fairly well today. The last quarter of the season our back line has been much improved.
