I don’t think that was his point. Sterling seemingly can’t do anything without the press jumping on it. He’s singled out. There’s definitely an element of bullying, for want of a better word. Not sure it’s racist but probably more it sells papers, which probably says more about the readerships than the journalists.
Yeah people in the media and some Liverpool fans like me tend to not like him, is it because he's black? No so Ian Wright needs to get a ****ing grip. #bullying #saynotothefro
I don’t think everyone or even most who dislike him have any sort of racist motive for that. There is still an element of society that doesn’t like to see a young, poor black guy making millions though.
As is quite evident by the abuse all of the other young, black players get in the press. Oh, wait a minute.....
One of the best I've seen from him, his goals usually come off various parts of his body other than his feet and they are generally about 2 yards out.
Not to the same extent. I don’t know what Sterling has done to be picked on. Apparently he’s a nice, quiet guy.
You have to be in the right place to score those though. Football fans are completely irrational when it comes to who they like and who they don't; that said, I'm not exactly struggling to work out why a Liverpoool fan might dislike Sterling...
He works his socks off and creates moments during a game and in those moments he has about 50/50 success, quite often he'll make the wrong decision but he keeps going and creates more moments I would guess that he make many more moments than any other player. Because of the direct runs he makes he also benefits from the likes of KDB being able to hit pin point passes. I feel daft having a go at him quite often because his record speaks for itself but my dislike is not all down to his departure.
