Vettel has to compose himself for Singapore, I think he could pull 13 points back there, if he gets it right and Merc have their usual expected performance at the track. That could bring it back down to 17 points lead. It is not impossible for Vettel to pull it back but it won't be easy and Lewis won't make it easy,

I don't know if you are serious with that comment, but actually that line up would be very interesting. Rosberg in that Ferrari and Hamilton in the Mercedes. They wouldn't have to bother about being team mates or team orders. Great idea, but it would have had to be immediately after his winning the drivers championship. I doubt very much he could make a comeback and even challenge Hamilton with him driving at this level. I don't think anyone noticed that Hamilton hardly made a mistake for the season so far. He got hit a couple times, but so far he hasn't crashed into anybody. Vettel lost the race from qualifying. He thought he had pole, and was angry when he was told Kimi had it. You could see the disappointment and hear it from what he said. Vettel doesn't handle pressure well, and that was evident when he was up against Ricciardo. Question though, would Vettel's tyres have lasted had he not spun? The pace Hamilton was pushing and his ability to keep close even in dirty air might have caused even Vettel to chew up his tyres too. A lot of people are not giving Kimi enough credit though. He has had some problems in qualifying, but when he is on I think he can beat Vettel.

 

Really???? So you are saying that was the case in Spa? You didn't see the part when Vettel simply drove past Hamilton and disappeared in the distance? You honestly believe that Vettel is that much quicker than Hamilton?

Can you believe this guy??? Instead of criticizing Vettel he takes a swipe at Bottas. Why does he thing Bottas should make it easier for a Ferrari win? Is Bottas signed to or driving for Ferrari?


Ferrari taunt 'butler' Bottas after Italian GP defeat

Maurizio Arrivabane issued a sideswipe to Mercedes and Valtteri Bottas after Lewis Hamilton pipped Kimi Raikkonen to victory at the Italian Grand Prix, saying Ferrari would not treat one of their drivers like a "butler". Bottas was utilised to back Raikkonen into Hamilton at Monza, crucial in the world champions' win.




Having played out what Toto Wolff labelled a "sensational wing man" performance to help Hamilton edge Ferrari in Hungary earlier this year, Bottas was once again deployed as his teammate's rear gunner at Monza.

Ferrari left Bottas out on his opening stint to collect Raikkonen and keep his pace controlled after Hamilton pitted. The move backed Raikkonen into Hamilton and also shredded the Ferrari's tyres, helping the Brit make his decisive move with eight laps to go.

Raikkonen had started on pole ahead of Sebastian Vettel, who finished fourth after a lap-one collision with Hamilton, with Ferrari's hesitance to favour the German put under the microscope - but Arrivabene defended his team's tactics.

"We hire drivers, not butlers, even if we wanted to give the order to the team it would have been impossible, it is very dangerous and crazy to give it at the start, if possible in the course of the race," Arrivabene told Sky Sports.

"Defending on two opponents is not easy, do you have any orders for a Ferrari team?

"I know what we have to do, I do not want to criticise others."

Vettel slipped 30 points behind Hamilton with seven races to go, while Ferrari are 25 points adrift of Mercedes in the constructors' standings.

"The car is not inferior to the Mercedes, we must not give up, now it is important to analyse the data and understand what happened," Arrivabene said.

"The gap of 30 points in the drivers and 20 in the constructors is a lot but if you go out of the track are 25 points that fly away.

"The reliability will be very important and above all the determination, we must work focused on our objectives and stay calm."

 

Spot the Irony...

 

Oh by the way I doubt Kimi got much of a tow from Vettel for pole....Kimi pulled it off in the final sector and for most of that he could hardly see Vettel's car. In fact, Vettel was much closer to Hamilton than Kimi was to him. Check the video on F1.com. I think Kimi did it on his own. It was a great lap.

Ferrari really have sour grapes about losing, but the pass by Hamilton was done in clean air without the assistance of Bottas who had pitted long before.

Vettel unhappy with Raikkonen: "I'm racing three cars"

Sebastian Vettel is unhappy with the way Kimi Raikkonen behaved himself during the Grand Prix, after the Finn firstly qualified in front of him and then didn't let him pass during the Grand Prix itself at the start.



The German started the race from P2 behind Raikkonen, but when he tried a move on Raikkonen in the first chicane, the Ice Man defended hard, clearly not wanting to give up his place to his teammate. Directly after the race, Vettel wanted a word with the team before talking to the media.

"When I had to evade him in the next chicane, Lewis could get past," Vettel told Ziggo Sport.

"I had no space and made a spin and had severe damage."

Finally, Vettel revealed why he went to Ferrari straight after the race. He wasn't happy with the team's strategy, which is understandable from his point of view.

HOT NEWS: Raikkonen informed of Ferrari departure before Monza

"I'm not particularly happy with the way Ferrari managed things on Saturday.

"It should've been me starting from pole position.

"For me, it's clear: I have to race three cars, including my teammate."

Normally, Vettel and Raikkonen get along nicely, but there's clearly a little rift between the two now. For once, Kimi bet on himself instead of letting Vettel past as he always has to do, which clearly surprised and upset Vettel.


No Vettel, you are not racing three cars, you are racing 19 cars. It should have been you starting on pole? Why not try beating Kimi first to poll then. Next time you need to ask Race director to let you race all by yourself if you are unhappy racing against other cars. People talk about Verstappen, but it seems as though both he and Vettel are soooo much alike.
