Can we all just sit back for a second and take this in. It finally looks like the Allams are going. Something has been bubbling in the background for a few months now but news is finally leaking through that Duffen, backed by Saudi money will be buying the club. "Duffen is understood to be leading a consortium backed by a Saudi investor, with due diligence set to end after weeks of negotiations regarding the sale. Auditors were at the club’s offices last week and have also been down to the Cottingham training ground and academy base at Bishop Burton college with a deal moving forward. The investors have an interest not only in the football club but see the surrounding area around the stadium as prime for potential investment, with the prospect of development in the city thought to be one of the driving forces behind their interest in purchasing the Tigers. An update at Companies House last night showed Ehab Allam yesterday released the mortgage charge from Macquarie Bank, meaning the only loans now outstanding at the football club are to the owners, making the sale of the club far easier." Lets be positive about this, its what all of us wanted. The only downside is that its Duffen so it wont be a complete fresh start which is what some hoped for. Either way the Allams are going and we'll hopefully start seeing all of their wrongs put right in the upcoming months.
If the auditors were through last week and an offer is being drafted up, this could all be wrapped up pretty quickly. Unless of course there's a lot of haggling over future payments based on transfers or Parachute payments..
Doesn’t this sound very similar to when the Allams came in to you? Big plans for the area. Investment. Etc. This time though, instead of a relatively unknown, it’s Duffen. Who left us on the brink of complete destruction. Yes I know the Allams, fans, etc but we have the club still and it’s ok financially, just not footbally. Going back, Duffen. And Saudis. And HCC. Christ almighty.
I think we will see a full new first team coaching/manager set up before jan to give them time to decide what and who they want
Sky Sources saying that there are three potential buyers. Wonder if Duffman is involved with all three??
Duffen wasn't our 'owner' before and wouldn't be this time. Surely more of your vitriol should be aimed at the actual owner/ consortium at the time? The fact remains if our owner back then was actually financially secure it wouldn't have mattered who the chairman was
-> "but we have the club still" No we ****ing don't. That's the whole point. I'd welcome new owners with Duffen fronting it with open arms. Hopefully the nightmare is close to over.
One thing Duffen will do is engage with the fans again something we have not had for many years, yes he left under a cloud last time which he better have learnt from but surely Duffen backed by a Saudi Prince is better than duffen backed by a property developer from Essex. Anyway I still think there is a bit to do in this deal so nothing has happened yet and who knows when Ehab is involved.
I’m prepared to take a chance with new owners. Anything would be an improvement over the current ****tard.
Hull City are in talks with three interested parties over a takeover, according to Sky Sources. Current owner Assem Allam, who took over the club in 2010, put the club up for sale in April 2014. In 2013, Allam attempted to rename the club 'Hull Tigers' but had the move blocked by the Football Association. He subsequently looked to sell and has come close on two occasions. Allam agreed to sell the club to the Dai family in 2016, but they eventually bought Reading when the deal collapsed. He also held negotiations with a consortium led by Chien Lee, who bought Barnsley in 2017. https://www.skysports.com/football/...ull-city-in-talks-with-three-takeover-parties
Nixon doesn't seem convinced there are several interested parties... Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko One party leaks interest. Club says there’s an auction.
That's almost certainly the Allams trying to create the illusion of competition to ramp the price up. It's worrying to me if we're supposedly close to a deal. They're really terrible at this but they think they're so clever. All it does is put the buyer off every time.
Sounds like something the Allams would do! They're close to a deal with Duffen & co but last minute want to get a better deal so they leak out bullshit information to Sky to try and get more bidders... laughable if true but wouldnt put anything past them.
There’s still plenty of time for our current owners to **** this sale up...accidentally or not So don’t get too excited
