I feel for you PL. All I can say is that every child has different relationships with their parents. I can only speak from experience, and my daughter.

She is now 28, and as most of you on here know lives in the US now. She moved out there in 2014, and up until then, she was inseparable from my other half and in some respects to me. She did live at home, but whenever she had a boyfriend, she would still probably spend more time here with us than round theirs. Now she is in the US she is on Facetime 8 or 9 times a day - I'm knackered today as she was chatting to Mrs No7 until 3 am as they forget about the time difference.

When we go over to the US, we are there for 2-3 weeks at a time and I can imagine her husband thinking the same - he is older than her and has 3 grown up kids of his own (as well as the two with her), and cant understand why she wants to see us so often - he obviously had a different relationship (note i said different not wrong etc) with his kids.

There is no solution, but when you love someone, you love their family too...:)

    Good luck

Are you familiar with those super-realistic pictures on T-shirts....usually a dog or another animal. Have just seen some advertised that look like you are wearing a couple of guns and a bandolier of bullets....on what planet is that sensible?

It's a little known fact that Winnie the Pooh author A A Milne had a smaller brother called A A A Milne.

The therapist asked my wife why she wanted to end our marriage

She said she hated all the constant Star Wars puns.

I look at therapist and said, "May divorce be with you!"

Stop the world, I want to get off....and if you have any sense you will join me.
Apparently woman should be written as womxn so as to not to offend women who object to the word root being 'man' or offend transsexuals. I would suggest that most women and transsexuals aren't that stupid.

Please tell me it is April 1st or that I have missed a joke. I don't mind looking daft....better that than this being real.

I’m also very excited that my favourite author, Markus Zusak, is releasing his first book in 13 years tomorrow, Bridge Of Clay. I’ll hazard a guess it will be great. So get that too!

If it’s possible for a TV show to be darkly hilarious, it was that.

Everything offends someone nowadays. It's the world we live in ... sorry if that offended anyone reading this.

Yep it's very good, I suppose if you wait long enough something good will come along eventually. Having said that there are one or two other decent dramas around at the moment but Killing Eve is the best IMO, and there's a second series being filmed.

I'm never sorry when something I do or say offends someone, and I completely agree with this from Ricky Gervais

"A comedian's job isn't just to make people laugh, it's to make them think. If there's a meaning to it, and a substance and a bit of a depth, then you're doing something. Now, here's the rub: offence, is never given, its taken. If you're not offended by something, then there was no offence, it's as simple as that. If you are offended by something, walk away. I'm offended by things all the time but I haven't got the right not to be offended, and remember this: just because someone is offended it doesn't mean they're right."
