I was 44yrs old, overweight and had been sat behind a desk for 15yrs as an insurance broker, just decided to quit one day, set up my own Tiling business and 3 yrs later can’t believe I didn’t do it any earlier. Work for myself, earn a **** load, take time off when I want etc, it’s brilliant.
I've thought about a change of career, and I've started to process of retraining. I'm currently sat on a bench swearing at kids and grumbling, as stage one of my new career as a pensioner.
I'm resurrecting this thread. I've just been made redundant for the third time in five years. It's a bit sad as I enjoyed the job and the people. No negativity from me though. I've just applied to do Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the Open University. Although I will still need a full time job.
Good luck with the job search & your studies. I’m sure the people in your old job were good people but I’m sure at least one must have been a right ****er.
