We do have social deprivation but being a member of the EU is not responsible for that and leaving the EU is not going to solve that, it will make it worse. You only need to look at the countries who are members of the EU who are in a much better position than we are to prove this point, Sweden, Finland, Denmark etc etc.

A right wing hard brexit wants the UK to be a low tax, low regulation and low service economy. The people pushing this hard brexit are the people who want a privatised health service, the removal of workers rights, safety regulations, food standards.

We won't be allowed to work in Poland or Latvia (well not without applying for working visas). I'd like to retain the option to live and work across Europe.

We actually punch well above our weight in terms of world influence due to the unique position of being a link between America and Europe. And no it's not top of my list but being a part of a large block does have practical benefits such as being able to tell the toddler Trump to do one rather than having to set aside all principles because we're going to have to beg for a trade deal soon. Crack down on corporations tax evasion? Never going to happen if it's the UK trying to do it alone. Europe trying to do it and it becomes feasible.

There's a reason Putin pushed for Brexit as he wants a weak EU as it works to his advantage. In a continent that has been ravaged by war for centuries we've too quickly taken for granted peace and how cheapily that's been achieved by being a member of the EU.

Far too serious for me pal. <ok>

Should've stuck to my past principles and ignored political threads. I'll be having sleepless nights worrying about that lot.

Haha I'm not scared by the big old world out there. The people who strike me as scared are the ones who want Britain to retreat to some past that doesn't exist.

Morning all. I can never understand people who vote for a low tax economy. Taxes are needed to pay for things that are needed in a civilised society. The strange thing is the people who object most are the richest.

You mean the one's brave enough to stand up to the Germans and Frogs trying to dictate how we live, while you wave your white flags.

In which case as people who spent the last 20 years fighting to get out of the EU instead of respecting the previous vote they were very stupid if they expected that and didn't take that into account.

And how exactly have the remainers actually stopped them?

Think you will find people against the EU have respected that vote for many many years, without the backstabbing of the current crop of lilly livered hippy surrender merchant's.

By telling the EU you have no respect for your country and will surrender and backstab at every opportunity.

Take a look at this - UN indictment of the effects of austerity on the UK population. Blame laid entirely at the door of the UK government. Well to be precise the Conservative and Conservative/Lib-Dem coalition. No mention of the EU.

I don't think I will find that, or you could ask the last three Conservative Prime Ministers who all had their careers killed by division over Europe.

If we do manage to part company with the EU, at least there won't be any British politicians with their snouts in the EU trough.

If you read the article you'll see how they come over here rape some people, pay themselves hundreds and thousands of pounds and then are still capable of spotting that this government has inflicted unnecessary misery due to “punitive, mean-spirited, and often callous” austerity policies.

Nah 20/20, the Beano is too intellectual for Chesh. He prefers Keyhole Kate in The Dandy.

It was Dennis the Menace for me, but come to think of it, Keyhole Kate looking through a keyhole does bear a striking similarity to a current politician. <whistle>
