Presumably there'll be a press conference tomorrow, but ahead of that, what's our thoughts on the team we should put out? Play the first team and carry on the momentum, or just play the U23's? Press conference... “We’re looking up the table and over the past couple of days we’ve been working on deals to bring 2 or 3 players in to freshen the squad up.” “Staying in the division is the number 1 priority but we’ve put ourselves in a position where we’re looking up the table rather than down.” “Having sat down with the owners, we want to keep pushing on and that involves keeping our key players.” “Everyone has a smile on their face. We’re not looking to lose any key players and we’re hoping to bring 2 or 3 players in to bolster the squad. There’s a positive vibe around the club.” “I was really pleased with Tommy Elphick in his time with the club, but he’s going to stay at Aston Villa now so we’ll be looking to bring another centre-back in to provide cover for our current defenders.” “We will make changes for the weekend. It gives us an opportunity for 1 or 2 players to come back from injury and play some youngsters.” “George Long is expected to start and Keane Lewis-Potter will be involved. There’s no pressure on him when he does get involved but it’s great to have another home-grown @HullCityAcademy product involved.” “David Milinkovic will have an opportunity in the FA Cup. Ondrej Mazuch has trained today so he may have a chance to be involved.” “We’re in the race now, but it’s about what we’re going to do in that race. We need to give ourselves every opportunity to kick on and keep progressing.” “It’s about taking our chances. I didn’t think we were particularly good for 60 minutes against Bolton but we took our chances and we won 6-0.”
Tricky as nige gives nowt away regarding injuries. Campbell might need an hour, get a bit of match fitness. Martin might want to carry on smashing them in... I'd play McKenzie Batty and Fleming Everything nige does is working so keep Toral and Dicko on the bench where they belong
Play the bench plus the sulky French/Serb mashup, then throw on a couple of match fitness Johnnies on the hour.
I'll take a stab at this Long Lichaj Mckenzie Burke/Mazuch Fleming Stewart Batty Toral Kane Martin Milikovic
I suspect 3-4 'fringe' players will get a start, as for the line up I guess that will be dictated by whoever may have been carrying injuries and who may need game time. Campbell on the bench at best, ideally back for Wednesday at home the week later.
Some rotation in the interests of fitness/ keeping players fresh is fine but I wouldn't want to see wholesale changes that could disrupt the momentum. Give Campbell some time and maybe give Batty a game too.
I assume there'll be a couple of streams considering this is on overseas TV, isn't it? I'd stick Keane and Dicko up front and batty in midfield. Will we see Milinkovic turn up on time?
The whole of Africa and Asia and Siberia will turned in to whose big cats come out on top. Just think of the billions we could have raked in if small minded people concerned with irrelevant things like the history of their club hadn't been against their visionary, business genius owner.
I can't see Martin get a look in at his parent club, but you may be right, we'll have to wait and see.
It's listed on a few foreign streams already....i can pick it up on satellite tv on a channel called Digi tv though hopefully be a english audio one viewable on the day.
----------------Long---------------- Kane -----Ritson -----Mazuch/De Wijs----- Fleming Batty ----McKenzie ----Toral W. Keane ---Lewis-Potter---- Dicko Subs: Marshall, Evandro, Burke, Bowen, Kingsley, Henriksen, Stewart I don't think Milinkovic will feature, he's off back to Hearts.
The mention of Johnnies just made me chuckle Ernie. Back when I was a boy it was common to see an inflated Durex float across the heads of the crowd on Bunkers Hill. Saw my first jonnie at BP.
I'd defo like to see Lewis - Potter playing. Read about the kid and he's made the squad before. These competitions keep the heart of the club with the fringe players and more importantly the youngsters. They're fearless...
