Good Morning Everyone Swansea Manager Graham Potter took a playful swipe at Leeds amid speculation an offer was imminent on Daniel James “I haven’t heard anything so I don’t know. Maybe Leeds have saved themselves some money, trimming the spy budget. “It just emerges from somewhere and then we have to speak about it. That’s no criticism of Leeds because they have not mentioned anything.” The Bournemouth Echo report that Leeds are one of four Championship clubs trying to secure the signing of Cherries . The 25 year old can play left back or centre back. Aston Villa, West Brom and Nottingham Forest are the other interested parties. Leeds United Football Club will be celebrating the life of Toby Nye at the Championship fixture against Norwich City on Saturday 2 February. Any fans wishing to bring flowers to remember the youngster, who had a very special bond with the club, should leave them at the Billy Bremner statue outside Elland Road on the day of the game. Our players will wear black armbands and a minute of applause will be held to honour Toby ahead of kick-off.
Morning all... Just a game of poker with James, how badly Swansea need to sell and how long can they hold out combined with how much we can afford to go to. If Bielsa wants these players it still baffles me why we don’t get them over the line in week one, it could be the difference of quite a haul of points during the course of games playedin January.
Potter hopefully just having a laugh not a dig, if so it's how it should be, a bit of jesting over something that has been blown up out of all proportion, didn't help the Derby game being on Sky, which they were the main culprits of causing the hysteria, just to perhaps get a few more viewers. James transfer is a typical January scenario, they'll hold out to get every penny, we'll hold back knowing he could be a free in the summer, tbf non of our rivals are buying, and us getting Casilla is the best transfer deal for any championship club so far. Mings is too injury prone, we have enough of them. Expected the club to do something in memory of young Toby and it will be gracefully respected by fans.
Don’t think any player that is mentioned is coming to Leeds, not Orta style, Casilla is a prime example, nobody had an idea until it was a done deal, so let the little taffy twat stay where he is.
Morning all Sad day for Toby Nye's family but they must be chuffed getting a full Leeds Utd send off.fans asked to wear Leeds shirts and will line the route to Elland Road, where a private blessing will take place on the pitch. Leeds will wear black arm bands and have a minutes celebration before the match RIP fella Tranny front again is boring and seems Leeds will not let Dan James go so now saying they expect it done before the window closes, unless Swansea try being too greedy. I'm still expecting a surprise because its all too quiet. Douglas started the season on fire and none of us could work out how we got him so cheap: Does having Alioski on the same flank hinder what Douglas did last year for Wolves. Has Pablo taking most free kicks stop Douglas from showing last seasons dead ball kicks. Is Douglas as good as we thought? This is his 2nd spell of injury has he been playing with a knock?
#WelcomeNorwich: Club ups security measures for Leeds match please log in to view this image Image Norwich City will take extra safety measures before next week's match at Leeds United because of concerns over an online fan campaign. The #WelcomeNorwich hashtag began by encouraging Leeds fans to give their visitors a hostile reception, but was criticised by both sets of supporters. Police in West Yorkshire and Norfolk said they were aware of posts on social media and were working with the clubs. The current top two Championship clubs meet at Elland Road on 2 February. Norwich City's chief operating officer Ben Kensell said: "Working with the assistance of Leeds United and the police following intelligence from them and concerned supporters about possible safety threats to our team coach made via social media, we have taken extra security precautions." He hoped the game was enjoyed "safely and in the right spirit", he added. please log in to view this image Tensions between the two sides has been raised after Norwich confirmed that it was one of the clubs to complain to the English Football League about Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa's admission of spying on opponents. Posts on Twitter suggested Leeds fans should greet Norwich in the same way Liverpool welcomed Manchester City before their Champions League tie last year, when their bus was pelted with bottles and flares. But the suggestions, under the hashtag #WelcomeNorwich, soon attracted a backlash from Leeds fan urging supporters to concentrate on the match. @DarrenDuckerby #WelcomeNorwich I hope you do welcome us like we welcomed you. I had a few beers with your lads and had banter about the match. If you are thinking of reverting to the hooligan days you really need to have a long hard think about yourself. Let's hope for a good game#LUFC #NCFC @petelovesleeds please log in to view this image Lets #welcomenorwich in the right way. No attacking the bus no attacking their supporters. Make it hell on the pitch for them. Boo every touch they have. Get the scarves swinging. Take the roof off ER for 90 mins. Elland road is intimidating at the best of times. Up it by 1 @Awi1co please log in to view this image ASW@Awi1co #WelcomeNorwich is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen and anyone who goes through with it or takes it too far is no fan of #LUFC Create a hostile atmosphere in the stadium by all means but threatening violence outside the stadium, give your heads a shake! @SJWilson30 please log in to view this image Completely against this whole #WelcomeNorwich in a Liverpool v Man City way. Do not feed the narrative. Dont give the EFL any more reason to hold us hostage in the championship. Instead actually welcome #NCFC when they arrive. But Rotherham first folks. #perspective
Good Morning to Matt an d co from a cool Bardsey Let the poker game begin for James believe me when I say he will be well worth whatever we pay for him in my opinion Ming is injury prone but by loaning him we can send him back again I see Ollie Burke scored twice on his debut good luck to the lad Finally is Brown selected on the bench I haven't heard the team news
Morning Mike, no Izzy Brown tomorrow. He's due to play 90 mins for the U23's on Monday, then hopefully on the bench against Norwich.
Not really a hill, more a mountain range. You could hold the winter Olympics on them, and it would probably be fun trying.
Just goes to show that the morons are still around. The dick brains that are trying to incite this idiotic action should really be focusing on doing their homework on time and making sure they don't wet the bed.
Bloody Shaun Harvey coming up on talksport at 12. Jim white saying he is going to ask about Bielsa and Leeds. Presumably he’ll have to duck the issue whilst it’s still being investigated.
Posted a couple of vids yesterday of Esequiel Ponce who is supposed to be going to the MLS, which I find hard to believe as a young 21 year old protege. Players move there to die and earn a few quid. Why do I find it hard to believe Ponce was born in the same village as Bielsa and Messi and also played for Bielsas Newells Old Boys. Named as Argentina's hottest prospect since Messi. Described as the new Batistuta he was snapped up by Roma as an 18yo and was quickly loaned out to Bielsa at Lille and since then has been loaned out to Grenada and now AEK Athens where he is scoring lots of goals Roma saw off Pochetino who wanted him at Spurs He only has 1-year left on his contract and still hasn't played for Roma so can be available for less than £5m Ponce has duel citizenship and holds both Argentinian and Spanish passports so no work permit needed. Who knows anything these days in football but I have never heard of a top 21 year old moving to the MLS when he has a chance of playing full International football. I'm hoping he is coming to Leeds on loan with a view to buy him in the Summer
Morning all I have never understood all the praise that Douglas an also Forshaw gets. In Douglas case, he is slow, almost always out of position and he passes the ball constantly at the wrong time. I will say that Douglas and also Forshaw have been bye fare the biggest disappointment so far this year. So far, both Douglas and Forshaw have not been as good as at least what I thought. But maybe if we have to be in this league for another season they could show that they are better. Douglas has himself come out and said he has not been good this season. Who do I want to play instead of Douglas you ask? Well right now, I feel Alioski is a much better option than Douglas and I would have him play there until Pearce get back. What about Forshaw you say? Well when Pontus gets back, I would put Philips back in front of back four and send Forshaw to the bench. Just to answer your questions directly: Does having Alioski on the same flank hinder what Douglas did last year for Wolves...................No, I would say it’s the other way around. Douglas is hindring Alioski. Has Pablo taking most free kicks stop Douglas from showing last seasons dead ball kicks..................No, he had his chances at the start of the season and he was not even close. Is Douglas as good as we thought?...................This is a though one, last season none of our players was any good. However, you could see that there was something there. With Douglas I can’t see it, but who knows. A year with the boys and some Bielsa magic and he may well be good. This is his 2nd spell of injury has he been playing with a knock?..............No, I don’t think so. But then again I no doctor.
