So with Morata out in Spain and Higuain not signed in time, we either have Giroud or false 9 Hazard against Spurs tonight. Very rarely does a league cup game seem to hold such importance but with our form, our opponent and Sarri's post Arsenal comments, this feels like a big game.

I hope he goes Giroud, I expect he'll go Hazard.

We've only scored 4 times in our 5 games in 2019, and half of those was against Forest in the FA cup. We've only scored in 2 out of those 5 games.

Spurs have a good defence, something to defend and we'll have no striker. This has nil-nil written all over it.

Oh how it would be nice if we came flying out the traps ala Barca 05 and banged a few in. Expecting a frustrating and long night. Hope I'm wrong. Either way COYB and KTBFFH

I’d start Giroud and I’d play Emerson at full back too but I don’t suspect we’ll see either. Not quite sure why Alonso and Willian keep getting picked with the form their on!

Starting with a striker. I reckon Sarri fancies this one. They all must do. I fornone have had enough of being turned over by spurs and now seems as good a time as any to put them back in their place.

Much better from pretty much everyone. Hazard was exceptional Giroud added balance, Pedro was lively, Kante excellent. In midfield Jorghino was OK, Barkley underwhelmed and lost the ball, but put a great free kick in for one goal. He just doesn't attack enough. Kovacic was steady, the back 4 all good ,Luiz again showed how to pass and keeper was very good when required. Emerson did well and got better as his confidence grew.
Good result, and good call from Sarri, who might just be getting the message, his players can do better, he just needs to use them better.

Yeah, I thought Giroud struggled a bit but him being there made Hazard play better so can’t complain too much.

Emerson had a really good game, as did Kante. Same pattern coming up too when Jorginho plays well, the whole team does. Barkley though....looked completely out of place.

Hopefully that result will set us up for a bit too hit some league form now!

Any LB will be better than that Sorry excuse Alonso....He raped me when I was a child.....he thought I wouldn't remember but I do.....I see his face everywhere.....it haunts me.

Every time he scores a goal its like he is jizzing up my ass all over again.

I am not sure how much more of this I can take......
