    Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City

    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Date - 23 February 2019
    Kick off - 3pm
    Venue - Hillsborough

Following their emphatic 4-1 victory over Brentford in the 5th Round of the FA Cup, next up for Graham Potter’s Swansea squad is a return to League action with a Championship fixture away to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Swans reached the FA Cup quarter-finals for only the fifth time in their history after they fought back to beat 10-man Brentford.

Graham Potter's side looked to be heading out after Ollie Watkins had given the dominant visitors a deserved lead at the break.

But not for the first time this season, Swansea produced a rousing second-half revival to secure victory.

Goalkeeper Luke Daniels' unfortunate own goal brought the Swans level before a memorable Daniel James solo effort put them ahead.

After Brentford's Ezri Konsa saw red for a professional foul, Swansea extended their lead with a neat Bersant Celina finish.

George Byers' low drive from the edge of the area completed the victory in stoppage-time.

The day before the Swans played the Bees, Sheffield Wednesday defender Dominic Iorfa scored a dramatic equaliser in the 10th minute of time added on to earn the Owls a point at Rotherham.

In a chaotic finale, the former Wolves man equalised with the final kick of the match before Owls forward Fernando Forestieri was sent off for going into the crowd during the celebrations.

The result will be incredibly tough to take for the struggling Millers, who fought back from going behind to Forestieri's first goal since October.

Jon Taylor equalised before Richie Towell's strike after the break looked to have set the hosts on their way to a rare win but they were unable to see out the time added on after Owls defender Jordan Thorniley suffered a head injury and it was ultimately his replacement who levelled.

The result lifted the Owls to 15th place in the table, 2 places and 3 points behind the Swans.

The Swans have played the Owls on 30 occasions previously, winning 7, losing 12 and drawing 11.

In the reverse fixture at the Liberty in December, Bersant Celina came off the bench to score one goal and create another as Swansea City fought back in dramatic fashion to beat Sheffield Wednesday.

Swansea trailed after substitute Marco Matias seized on sloppy defending.

But five minutes after his introduction, Celina equalised with a neat, first-time effort.

And just a minute later, Celina lofted a delightful pass to Wayne Routledge, who scampered clear to finish between goalkeeper Cameron Dawson's legs.

Turning to Saturday, I think that the Swans will return from Yorkshire with a point following a 1-1 draw <cheers>

We’ve had 9 points from Sheffield this season. It’ll be another point on Saturday.

The guys must be full of confidence so I'm thinking a sneaky win by one goal.... and a clean sheet against all logic! I'll go 0 - 1.

Robbie James left us 21 years ago today. Arguably our greatest homegrown talent.
    RIP <rose>

Our last two away matches have ended in defeat, hopefully we can break this sequence and get something from this match, draw 1-1.

I'm trying, I realy am but I can't get excited about football at the moment because, imo, we are not a football team any more. Every one of our players is auditioning for the summer, none are playing to stay surely.

It has to be exciting for the kids, Celina, Grimes, James, McBurnie, Rodon, Roberts, all playing to be sold so maybe they will perform to their max and make a push towards the play-off but even if we make it all it will do will increase their market value for this summers closing down sale.

As for our older boys VDH, imo he's prem quality so that's where he'll be next year, Narsing, Naughton, Routledge, Dyer, Fer, Carroll, Monterro all are playing for their futures, even if not in a Swans shirt, but they are all playing to boost their profile ready to be sold or allowed to leave in the summer.

Potter and his staff will use the rest of this season to boost their profile too but also to gain experience which they can then take for a ride on the managerial merry go round and spin off to another club with experience under their belts.

1-0 Swans, inspired by our players desire to impress future employers.
