Keane scored again today. It's not 'bollox'. Some people only see what they want to see. Keane was too bad to be true with Adkins as coach, same with Dicko. Martin can't be as bad as he has been either. Whether it's Adkins or whoever he gets to do the training, there is a problem there. Another thought I had was, where would we be in the table now if the coaching staff had actually got these players firing, and not let somebody like Ipswich take advantage instead.
In other news...I think the Northern Rail strike is over?! Trip to Scarborough back on (he says without checking the fixture list)
Should have spent last week learning how to defend as a team rather than concentrate on the size of the pitch!
We played great for 20 minutes, neat passes and flicks, confident build up. Went 1-0 up. Then fell apart. Seemed to stem from the sly kick in Marshall’s bread basket by their chippy number 9, though that could be a coincidence. Certainly their first goal killed us utterly, all confidence gone, Ehab in the stand watching players he refuses to give contracts to, heads drop, finito. Could have been 7 or 8. We will finish 18th. Odubajo looked really good. Great business there by City, ditch Moses and sign Angus.
I would check first. Someone I know who works in Scarborough said that he had heard there may still be bus services on a Saturday for a while because of works going on. Will let you know if I hear anything further.
To get players like Bowen and Grosicki to play at their best you need your midfield more dominant than it was today. We all know squad depth isn't there and without a couple of midfielders and our best central defenders it really does show.
We have a depleted, lop-sided, bare bones mess of a squad. We have a manager who has to try and get a tune out of this collection of crocks, rookies, misfits and a few decent larkers. We have a nominal chairman who offers no meaningful support or leadership to his management team (or their predecessors). We have a nominal chairman and his son, who don't understand the beating heart of football and don't trust those that do. preferring young, cheap, inexperienced, ambitious employees with no allegiance to the club and therefore no opposition to any bizarre policies the the nominal chairman and his son may care to implement.. There is no glue binding together the fans, the players, the management and the owners . Given that background, Adkins and Crosby are doing great.
Seems as if our season is ending at the back end of February! With some tough away games to come, 5-1 at Brentford might be a good result. Liam Ridgewell….Even Swannie called him 'garbage'. Cheap and ineffective options. We'll finish a few points above the bottom three.
Adkins.... " good news Mr Deputy Chairman'... Jordy and Reece Burke are fit again to play. Deputy Chairman " **** that we're paying that Ridgewells wages... he's playing'...!!!
I wish to show my appreciation to the Chairman and his heir apparent. Thanks to you I've gone cold turkey and found something better to do on a Saturday afternoon. Pair of see you next Tuesday's
Listen. Nige identified very early on in the window that he needed a centre as cover. We got the cheapest option possible when nothing else was forthcoming. Two injuries and we were ****ed. Hard to blame Nige and Crosby. Even harder to understand the rationale behind not getting the Elphick replacement.
The mistake was made before kick off with our centre half pairing. Then after we kicked off no bottle in midfield. Simple as.
Just seen Will Keane scores again for the tra’errrrs. Always showed evidence he had class just took the hand of a decent coach to bring it out of him it appears. Hopefully we have an extension on his contract as we’ll probably need it next series.
