Have to agree with Burnsy that we were excellent all over the pitch. If we continue to play like we have against the “better” teams, who knows how far we’ll go? Just hope the injuries to more defenders aren’t serious. Onwards and upwards.
NA's post-match interview for BBC he said the atmosphere was excellent. Commentator said it was like watching a reserves game. What do those at the match say?
Was loads better than Tuesday night, everyone seemed supportive today and team didn’t look nervy nor sat back, all positive in my humble opinion.
I thought the whole team played very well with good passing and movement. What surprised me was that Birmingham did'nt try to press us higher up the pitch and allowed us plenty of space to play the ball out of defence.
I thought it was pretty quiet in 1st half and then in the 2nd a lot of people seemed to wake up and make a bit of noise
Great atmosphere I thought, although sparse crowd, but those of us there were willing & able making noise, good job as they brought a good following. A cracking match, excellent performance by all, could/should have scored a couple more. Brum were disappointing, had a couple of dangerous players, but didn't offer much, seemed happy for us to play out from the back and have possession. Pugh looked pure class, and whilst not a Martin lover, he had his best game for us, did what he does best, held the ball up and won numerous fouls/free kicks, a thorn in Brum's side. Ref was poor, should have got to grip with their continual fouling early on. Last but not least, half time, twat in SW corner dancing with Amber, please don't tell me it was any of you lot!
Over all decent game and atmosphere. Obviously need more fans but those who are there are backing the team. Whole side played well today no weak links. Could have had a few more first half but 2.0 against a team competing for the play offs is great. Defence looked solid except for a couple of free headers we give them which they could have done better with. Only downside is a couple of injuries again let's hope they are not to bad because we need a full of near full strength side to compete for these play offs. Still a long shot after the start we had but just to be in with an outside chance is remarkable.
Not sure why it was on as I haven't watched it in years, but some presenter on Final Score commented that Bowen would surely be playing in the Premier League next season.
