IF a takeover happens during the season I expect a few hundred to return, if during the summer a couple of thousand at best. It'll be "I've found something else to do, football isn't what it was ( although it never has been since Alf Common) too expensive" blah blah de blah. I hope I'm in error. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Fair does. I think there will be 20,000 there. I'm just not sure how many will get back to coming week in week out. That's my real worry.
I love your optimism but there is no chance our crowd will more than double when, or if, the Allams depart. Our fanbase isn't that big just to turn up like that.
I'll be back for that first game. Beyond that, I've now a daughter who's 3 and a son who's 1. So I'll be doing my duty as a father to take them. Might be as an irregular at first but you can put us down for 3 season ticket eventually. Might even bring the missus.
I hope they do Chazz, but I haven't been to a game in four years. I don't think of myself as hardcore any more. How can I? Things change. When they've gone, I'd really like to go to that first home game with some of the people off here and then probably head to a pub after the game. Get **** faced and that. I'm just not sure sure if it will become such a big part of my life anymore. My idea to make this thread, was to try and gauge how many people feel the same way. A lot of it will be down to the new owners. Concessions must come back, that's a no brainer. I want to see every stand open and mirrors in the ladies etc. I want us to get back to the way we're before these soulless virgins took over. I'm ranting
As stewey said what If you and others don't like the next owners? Or the next. There's every chance. Apart from concessions I don't think too much will change.
I think the first game after Allams will be about 20k but then will drop down to about 12k and slowly rise if the new ownership rebuilds the damage done by Allams and reasonable performances/results on the pitch. Unfortunately I believe some lasting damage has been done. My girls are 11 and despite my encouragement aren't interested in football but I know several of the boys in the class have stopped supporting city and I see them wearing premier league teams shirts and it's those that it's going to be hard to get get back supporting the club
You honestly think nothing much will change? So you expect our next owners to also be absolute ****s who go out of their way to disrespect the club, the fans, the council, the community, the management team, players, and more, and who antagonise their core support pretty much whenever they can, and who blatantly lie at pretty much every turn? Really? I don't. I expect significant positive change compared to what we've suffered these past few years. However, I don't expect any new owners to be perfect either.
I will return with three others who sat together towards the end. I go to nearly every away game I miss the odd one due to the cricket season. The new owners might not be perfect but I'm not after someone to pump money in for a promotion push. They can put no money in and run us as a sustainable club for all I care. However, they will be infinitely better because they won't tell me to die when I want, refuse to use the club's name after their failed attempt to change it, throw their toys out the pram everytime they disagree with someone, they won't force thousands of our future generations of supporters to be lost by removing concession pricing, they won't force fans who have supported us for 50 years to be unable to attend due to removing pensioners pricing, they won't throw local community clubs out of community facilities, they won't lie during every single interview, they won't throw a stream of managers under the bus by constantly refusing to renew contracts even when it is logical to do so etc..... I could continue but you get the point.
