minutes out within 48 hours - ****ing hell, 24 hours is long enough, at least my grandchildren might get to see them
This is what the observer from the Hull City Fans Forum had to say: My experience of last night's Fans' committee meeting. It's widely said on here that the meetings are just a pointless box ticking exercise. To believe that in full, from the 3 hour 45 minute meeting I sat in would be a little harsh on the other fans in attendance. In total there was 20 or so people, about 7 of which were heads of department. A very enthusiastic Vicky Beercock chaired the meeting. I expected a very formal set up of "yes men" cowering in the shadow of Ehab who was also in attendance but I was wrong. The fans panel was made up of very savvy people who gave no quarter when it came to questioning Ehab who didn't sit at the head of the table so to speak but, at a corner of it. Pretty much everything was discussed, from Hot water concerns in concourse toilets to very straight questions to Ehab asking when he's leaving. One of the most outspoken fans (and I don't think she will mind me mentioning her name) was Barbara Wilkinson who delivered question after question and very much held the club staff to account. All of her (and others) concerns got noted for action and whether they will indeed get acted on remains to be seen. This Committee meeting seemed more of a co-optee and scrutiny meeting as it was quite bullish but in an informal atmosphere allowing open debate. Some comments I read on my previous post about attending were a little cynical which I totally understand but I wanted to see for myself what went on behind closed doors and yes...Maybe Ehab did agree to my attendance because by having an admin of a 15K strong fans group adds Kudos to saying "the club have engaged with a huge fans' group" but at the end of the day I am more informed after the meeting than I was before it. The Observational only status I went under was respect for the other fans who had to undergo the full application process where as I was fast tracked in on that condition as was one other person at the meeting. All in all, I found it far more engaging than I thought it would be and that was down to the fans present who were anything but nodding dogs. Ehab answered every question put to him although the answers where not to everyone's liking such as the concessions issue which appears now set in steel, let alone concrete. As stated, at this moment, it was a one off, will I get an invite back? who knows? Was the meeting a waste of time?....I can't say for all the other meetings as I never witnessed them but last not was not a waste of anyone's time by any means. The full set of minutes will be released in 48 hours but happy to answer any questions.
I find it absolutely astonishing that there are still Hull City fans out there who are willing to believe the **** they spout. Again and again, people are taken in by their bullshit. Oh well you never know mate, maybe they're serious this time. FFS
Summary of the meeting without been there. Following loads of fan consultation a new badge is coming, Acted on the request from supporters to mirrors in the ladies toilets. (only taken 5 years) Still actively seeking to sell the club, some comment about only selling to a good buyer. Budget needs to have sustainability, lots of rambling about costs. The evacuation announcement, still looking into improving the sound system. drifted off into the cost of running the SMC and maintaining the councils stadium at their expense. We were hoping to do more on the rebranding but some nasty man has the domain name Hull City.com and won't give it to them. Conncessions are required in the Premier League and we are in contact with the FSA . A whole load of rubbish about if you used to sit in the upper west and now sit in the corner you are saving loads. Tea and biscuits were nice.
Didn’t he ramble about some players playing for a move and would concentrate on the ones who want to stay. Well that’s non, Ehab, because your a t**t of the highest regard. Bowen isn’t playing for a move, he’s been our best player for 2 years racked in the goals on probably a crap contract, less than his worth. He’s not kicked off like Tymon or moaned about moving, he’s got his head down and scored goals. He will also earn you a fortune to repay some of your supposed debt (bar the interest you keep racking up). Get the hell out of my club. #allamsout
There’s a good summary on twitter from a chap called Mike Yardley. Apparently, the local press are to blame for falling attendances. You couldn’t make it up.
That's because it's pointless saying I told you so. Dialogue. WTF was that? Good intentions mean nothing when thrown at a brick wall; these are hard nosed arseholes. Treat them accordingly And no, I am not belittling good people who sought to give supporters a base-line. I think they have achieved a great deal. I thank them for that. But they should never have supped with the devil, there was another way. It's just my opinion. I still care and I respect anyone and everyone who makes an effort for our club. You have an opinion, I have mine. It's not about us. It's always been about them. It still is. Don't engage, attack.
This is fine. Folk must have lots of time to invest in bad people, it seems. Some might believe Tinkerbell will sort our woes, or a chance buyer will paint a rosy picture. We're stuck with these twats, so focus on undermining them with a healthy amount of abuse. We can all take the piss... they haven't got the rights to it.
