    About 8,000

They never actually announce the attendance during a game now , wonder why that is ?

In fairness, this stopped as a result of a request from a previous incarnation of the Fans Committee. Though it is right that the club is unlikely to reverse the decision, given the derision that would spill forth if they told 8,000 people that there was 11,000 of them in the ground.

According to the electronic signs around the ground there are more seats in the north stand than tigers in the wild, well on Saturday there were more tigers in the wild than people in the north stand.

Never trust the crowd figures I don’t.

How can he sit there and watch, knowing the ground is less than a third full, and not wonder why.
The Allams really are a strange bunch.

Should be a bumper crowd on Wednesday for the Wigan game. With it being half term and all the kids will be taking advantage of the special offers. Kids for a quid, . Bring a mate, buy one get one free, the marketing bods have really pulled out all the stops to fill the ground for this one.....
Should be rocking. I thought it was a good move not to tell anyone that the Beat Bus that was there on Saturday before the game, best keep stuff like that quiet . Along with the Under 23's playing Palace after the Reading game. We don't want those massive queues at the turnstiles again do we and it's reassuring that the club have found a solution to that particular problem.
Hopefully a few eggchasers might jog along thinking it's a rugger match. Because they used to turn out just to watch the groundsman cut the grass at the old bullyvard, didn't they ?

'and not wonder why?' Oh, I am sure the Allams know exactly why. They just don't care about the dwindling numbers. They claim their refusal to offer concessions has been a huge success and that allowing concessions (like every other club does) has been a global failure! Obviously they know that isn't true but I suspect they just like taking the p**s as they know it annoys people.

To be honest the home crowd didnt look much different to previous games to me. Good thing is the ones who are going stuck behind the team even when 1.0 down. Hoping for a win Wednesday which would make the Boro game interesting.

Don't agree. Take the Under 23's game immediately after the Reading game on Saturday, your were really getting two games for the price of one. Was it widely publicised ? Did you hear it mentioned on BBC sportstalk during the week ? Did the club make any effort at all to get the message out there ?
There has been loads of positives this season. Nigel Adkins finds plenty to talk about every week, yet the club just limps along from week to week with virtually nothing new coming out to entice the fans back. No ticket deals, no discounts, no enthusiasm. Nothing from the marketing side.
I could put 5,000 on the gate this week by getting on the phone to RH and the HDM today, and saying it's kids for a quid. Its not rocket science, its basic marketing.
Even if it was kids for a quid this lot wouldn't let anyone know until you actually walked up to the turnstile, then they wouldn't let you pay on the day.
There was a time this season when we had more points then we had when we went up under Phil Brown. Contrast that 'Dare to Dream' campaign and the build up of excitement from the 2008 season to this. I want to be hearing good news on every sports bulletin, I want to feel as though the club are doing everything they can to build up a game and sell tickets, and I mean everything. Instead I get he feeling they don't even know who the next home game is against.
They made more about bringing along a tin of beans for the homeless. They managed to get that message out. How about a similar effort and enthusiasm to get bums back on seats?

Can you drink in your seat at an Under 23’s game?
Genuine question because if you could then you could market it as somewhere to settle down with a post first team match pint rather than walking to pub
You’re spot on that they don’t market anything, but I do suspect it’s because they really don’t give a **** (or if they do then it’s because they’d see it as admitting the membership scheme has been a bit ****)

    for the last 50 years!!

We're obviously **** at this stuff, but specifically for Saturdays U23's game, there was a full article about it on the website and it was promoted on all the social media platforms, it wasn't as if they tried to keep it a secret.

HULL CITY FANS WILL ONCE AGAIN BE ABLE TO WATCH OUR UNDER-23S IN ACTION FOR FREE AT THE KCOM STADIUM FOLLOWING SATURDAY’S FIRST-TEAM FIXTURE AGAINST READING.

Supporters of all ages are invited to support Jon Beale’s Development Squad in action against Crystal Palace as they look to get back to winning ways in the Professional Development League.

The Under-23 fixture is scheduled to kick-off at 5.15pm – around 15-20 minutes after the completion of the first-team match – with admission to the KCOM for the Under-23 match free of charge for all spectators.

Fans wishing to stay behind to support Beale’s youngsters having already attended the first-team fixture simply have to stay in their seats after the full-time whistle.

Supporters who are not attending the Sky Bet Championship clash with Reading game but wish to watch the Development Squad will be able to watch for free as long as they are a Member or have a Match Card. Entrance to the Stadium will be available via gates 23-26 in the South West corner, which will open around 5pm.

Not everyone is on social media. That is my point. What's difficult with picking the phone up and speaking to RH or issuing a press release to the HDM ?

They don't give a **** about getting people to the first team game, never mind the U23's games.
