Pogba WTF! Could probably name a dozen midfielders who are more deserving of a place than him proof that the judgement of players is as bad as that of Journalists and fans!

    Sponsored by Panini.
Therefore all about selling Pogba stickers to kids than a true measure
of some of those players performance all season.

Gordon Taylor trying to get one more mouthful of the PFA piggy trough :

    Take a bow, son.

Quite surprised Pogba got in, then again the players voted on this when Ole was at the wheel and Pogba hadn’t yet downed tools for the second time in a season, which might explain it. Maybe he gets in for the #bantz?

How is it selected - any voting by general public involved?

Edit - this is the one voted by the players <doh>

If only there was another, more deserving French central midfielder who could have taken Pogba's spot and only the most bitter of rival fanboys would have argued it wasn't deserved...

Voting ended earlier in the season, but even accounting for the
coming of Ole, no way had Pogba put in another performances in total
in the season up to that date to justify a place.

If the players have selected him, I guess we cannot really argue. Can't accuse them of not knowing their stuff - though God knows it looks like it.

Pretty sure we can, given how many of them don't seem to understand how gravity works once they get within sight of the opponent's penalty area...

I agree, but if enough players have just come up against him, or seen him playing, when he was really on it, then I can see how he got in.

TAA is dangerously overrated, he’s had a good season but the Wolves RB has been better going forwards and TAA is very suspect defensively.

It’s a tough one because over the whole season he hasn’t been consistent but he more or less singlehandedly carried Utd in that early Ole spell.

Sissoko has been immense all season but doesn’t have the stats to support it and we all know pundits/ rivals will only go by stats.

Brooks has had a great debut season, Neves and Moutinho have impressed, Ramsay has shown why Arsenal were stupid to let him go while since January Tielemans has arguably been the best CM but when you go by stats alone, Pogba does blow every CM out of the water.

I’d say Son and Hazard can feel hard done by. AWB too.

I can see why Sonny hasn’t got in to be fair, he’s massively stepped up to the plate for us when he’s been needed but his League numbers don’t match up to those in there, or even Hazard, who has four more league goals and more than double the assists. Probably compounded because he’s missed a fair few games, less than 2000 mins played - Hazard is on 2724, Sterling 2507, Mane on 2815 and Salah on 3003 (according to BBC anyhow)

I don't know what the criteria for selection are.
But whatever they are, they don't make for a balanced team.
Look at the Championship team - how do three centre forwards in Pukki, Abraham & Sharp all get picked? They would get in each other's way!

Regarding Pogba, is he being picked as the best player in his position or the most consistent in that position this season?
If it's the latter, then he's nowhere near selection; but if the players are being asked to pick the best players at the top of their form, then he deseves consideration. At his best and when committed, he can be unstoppable (as he showed for France too).

Personally, if I was picking a representative XI from the PL to play La Liga, for example, many of these players wouldn't get in. You'd need Kante in his proper role.. I'd have Salah and Hazard either side of Kane. Laporte can't defend! The Liverpool full backs aren't the best defenders. I wouldn't want either picking up the runs of Messi or Suarez.

Was Pogba's name printed on the sheet already or something?
Wan-Bissaka should edge in ahead of Terence Trent-D'arby, Sissoko's been better than foul-a-minute Fernandinho and Hazard should be there.
Chelsea would be fighting it out for 7th place without him.

Heaton, Doherty, Van Dijk, Vertonghen, Chilwell, Neves, Doucoure, Fraser, McNeil, B Silva, Aguero, Is it obvious that I don't support a premier league team!
