Main consideration for me, who is the best equipped team to beat Leeds to finish 6th. That rules out Boro – which is fine as they deffo fall into bellend category. Derby – seriously dislike Lampard and Derby's ****ish fans. Bristol C – fairly neutral towards them. Fans seemed sporting about play-off loss. So, Bristol C win this round. But... I think Leeds would beat Boro. Would probably beat Bristol. Would probably beat Derby – although Derby might have the best chance of beating them out of the 3 (regardless of seaon's results). Plus, despite my feelings towards Lampard and Derby, Derby beating them would add an extra ****-off dimension to Leeds' demise. But, on the other hand, if Leeds did win, then at least I’d have the consolation of that twat Lampard getting defeated. Giving a sense of somekind of win/win. So, as hard as it seems to will, maybe Derby to finish 6th is my best option. Hopefully, WBA or Villa will win it – both relative non-entities on my football-hatred matrix.
A part of me wants to see Leeds go up as they would hopefully struggle and be on the receiving end of a few hammerings, even from teams they consider unworthy of being on the same pitch as the. like Watford. The other part hopes they get stuffed in the play off semi-final. Preference would be Bristol as their fans were a lot more gracious in defeat than most clubs would have been. A lot more gracious than fans of TWS , Blunts and Fowls. After that Derby, only because it is a proper football City, similar size to Hull and the Baseball ground had one of the best atmospheres there was, better than far larger stadiums.
Their fans also seemed to be gracious in defeat, when they lost to us in the play-offs that gave us our first promotion to the EPL
The thing that worries me about Leeds going up, is that they'd have a great chance of cementing their place - based on club potential, investment potential etc. Different times I know, but last time they went up, they were champions the very next season. There was talk earlier in season that if they failed to go up, investment may be pulled (not sure how true this is). That said, seeing the ****e who's come down, next season might be even easier to go up anyway.
Gutted I can't be there today but had to go into work and the 12.30ko means got no chance of making it in time. Give Skip a great send off for me, and wave the players and manager off at the end as i won't be seeing a fair few of them again.
I want Leeds to get to the play off final , then lose . Would be miles funnier , hopefully on penalties just to drag out the pain a bit more
There was some clown on Sunday Supplement saying the PL needs Leeds because of their massive fanbase. A stupid statement because Villa has a larger stadium. As does Sunderland. And as those two would take as many away as Leeds as they are all restricted to an amount they could more than sell it would make no difference to gate receipts. Though a few more might watch TWS on SKY than those two.The same clown was saying it would be better than having a team like Wigan as they had an empty stadium because everyone was watching rugby league. It won't have been because they were watching the rugby league as because they don't play at the same time sharing a stadium. An even more stupid statement as when Wigan were in the PL their averages were one season over 20,000, 2 over 19,000, 4 over 18,000 and one just under 17,000 whilst during that time Wigan Warriors averaged around 10,000. Nonsense about rugby compared to football isn't confined to talking about Hull.
I know, I mentioned thy were more gracious in defeat than fans of our Yorkshire rivals would have been.
TWS and the Fowls having a Worst Penalty Of The Season Competition. Comedy gold. Then the Drama Queens take an awful one and Wednesday equalise with another one. QPR than grab a winner. Ipswich go down to 10 men against TWS then score an injury time winner.
Did you notice all the stewards concentrating on Norwich, the away fans? At Stoke they were grouped in front of the Blunts fans. Same at other grounds. At the KCOM all the attention of the police and stewards is concentrated on City fans.
